Hi everyone:
This may sound like a wierd question but I figure I'd ask anyways. I use an oil free, fragrance-free eyemakeup remover everynight and it does a great job of taking off my eyemakeup. I haven't had as much luck finding a facial cleanser that does the same without irritating my face. Plus, I plan on using a SPF 50 in the summer and I need something to take off the sunscreen.
Would anyone recommend--or really NOT recommend--doing this? Is there a reason why it's only marketed as eyemakeup remover?! |

I would guess that eye makeup remover is especially targeted at removing mascara. So, therefore it may have ingredients in it that might not be so good for the rest of the face, but I really have no idea.
But there are so many great gentle cleansers out there, I don't know why you would want to use this anyway. I just use oil to cleanse my face - the theory is oil cleanses oil - and it works brilliantly, plus it removes mascara as well. |

I don't think the eye makeup remover will do any harm on your face skin. Anyway, I don't quite understand why you won't use a face cleanser or an oil, as Keliu suggests. It's also more cost effective than an eye makeup remover. |

I typically use a natural, oil-based lotion (Wild Carrot brand) to clean my face (LRP SS needs oil to completely remove it) but when I travel, Earth Science eye makeup remover works in a pinch as a face cleanser. It's extremely mild and seems to remove the SS as well my eye makeup. Also, the Wild Carrot lotion comes in a glass pump jar, which is fine for the vanity, but too much trouble to repackage for a trip.
Okay, I'm lazy. |

eye makeup remover is usually just a micellar non-foaming surfactant...think amped up cetaphil |

Thanks for the reply Edenfield, it's very helpful. By the way what does micellar mean, anyway? I've seen it in product descriptions but didn't know what it was. |

Thanks for all the replies. I think edenfield's responses suggest that eyemakeup remover CAN be used on the face as well? Correct me if I'm wrong, though.
I'm currently using Lise Waiter's Micellar Water Makeup Remover For Sensitive Eyes so edenfield hit it right on the nail.
Might take the plunge sometime to use the remover on my face. |

I guess you can, but personally I won't, coz eye makeup remover usually more expensive than face makeup remover |

Hi~just my two cents, if I used any type of make up remover on my face, it would be one clogged pore/ZIT. Good luck with that |
