Ok, so I've always been interested in John Masters products bc of their low affordable prices and wholesome organic ingredients......which makes the line sound sooooooooooooo GREAT! But after trying their products, I must say that I am completely and utterly disappointed with their skincare line! Sad But their haircare line is GREAT!
Ok, so I'm just gonna give a summary of each product I've purchased!

Citrus and Neroli Detangler: as most of you all know, this product is like the ultimate HG!! I don't think there's a single person who's tried this product and didn't fall in love with it upon first try! At first, I wasn't sure if it could possible live up the the ravings it was receiving on EDS but gosh, it really is truly amazing stuff! I mean this conditioner glides on absolutely sooooooo smoothly and completely untangles my hair *instantly* and sooooooooo *easily*. My hair feels like silk! The smell, the texture, everything about it is amazing! I can't recommend this product enuf! It is an absolute must-have in your regime! Very Happy

French Green Clay & Green Tea Purifying Mask: This product comes in a little glass-tinted jar. It looks pretty small but it really lasts. It has a very herbal/plant smell to it. I don't mind it as much but a friend of mine hates it. It kinda smells like grass!?!?...I guess Confused Anyways, the texture is well, literally like mud, and glides on the skin pretty thin once ur spreading it so feel free to be generous with the product. I think this product is good for ppl with combination/oily skin since it can be just slightly drying, which I like (I have combination skin). I feel like it does draw out impurities as it promises bc my skin always feels a little brighter/glowy and cleaner after using it. It's a good mask to have around when your skin feels congested or if you've forgot to wash ur face the night-before and need an extra cleansing step Anxious LOL!

Vitamin C Anti-Aging Face Serum: YUCK YUCK YUCK YUCK! Oh yeh, did I mean YUCK already? Gimme me a minute to continue "yucking" the product! First of all, the smell!!! OMG!! If you wanted to barf but just needed that one little nudge to kick it off, well, you've found the product! If I were to use any words to describe it, they would be "herbal vomit gone sour in a jar"! It smell sooooo sooooooooo soooooooo bad!! And the texture isn't to my liking either! It's not quite cream, it's not quite serum, it's not quite gel....it's like liquidy vomit Confused (sorry for my lack of imaginative and range of vocabulary here)! However, I must say that it does absorb quickly and the disgusting smell dissipates quite a bit afterwards. After using it a few times, I don't see much improvements in my skin. If anything, I think it's a little irritating bc I get tiny little breakouts around my forehead and nose. I'm not sure if it's def due to this product but I know for sure it doesn't contribute to radiant skin. My skin looks dull the next morning as if I've just gotten burnt in the sun and skin cells turned brown. I look more dead than alive the next morning!

Firming Eye Gel: it is not exactly a gel, it is actually a cream base but upon touching the skin, it seems to turn into liquid. It's not very heavy as it physically appears to be and feel pretty nice on the skin. The smell isn't that great either, smells similar to the vit C serum but not as strong so it's bearable. The only problem I have with this product...and mind you, this is the CRITICAL problem...IT STINGS MY EYES!! And I mean it really really stings!! I am practically balling after applying it and what's worse is that I can't wipe my eyes or the cream will come off...what an annoying predicament! Crying or Very sad If you do not want to put urselves thru torment each and every night, I suggest you do not buy this product...it's not worth the fuss! Especially after comparing the results of this eyecream with the ones by Pevonia Botanica ("C" Evolutive Eye Gel and Eye Gel C), JM just does not compare!! Pevonia give BEAUTIFUL and I really mean BEAUTIFUL effects. I was amazed when I checked in the mirrors the next morning after using it! No wrinkles (not even a tiny one!!), no baggy eyes, no dark circles....just radiant, clear, and perfect under-eye skin!! RAVE RAVE RAVE!! Cool

So in general, stay away from JM skincare line...I think most of their product aren't as great in comparison to most other products you'll find. But I would definitely order their haircare line...they are absolutely phenomenal! Very Happy

I have to say that this just as entertaining as the Anna Bellina review...thanks for the laughs and the warnings! Laughing

Thank you for helping me with eliminating one item, John M Vitamin C Anti-Aging Face Serum, from my ever-growing wish-list of skin care products. Smile

I actually have a new unopened JM C Serum in the fridge, but am waiting to finish my other C serum first. Now I’m really tempted to open it and see what it smells like LOL

Zili - have you tried the JM Green Tea & Rose Serum? I’ve gone through a few bottles and rather like it.

LOL! just be warned that the smell really isn't too pleasing! Confused And yeh I've always wanted to try the JM Green Tea & Rose Serum but never got a chance to. After this experience with JM products, I'm actually a little reluctant to repurchase any skincare line from them...did you notice any difference after using it tho?

I'm sorry to have to say I tried the Citrus & Neroli Detangler and did not like it. I ended up giving it to my daughter to use up. Sad I haven't tried any of John Masters Organics products since I was not too impressed with this one.

I too hated the Citrus & Neroli detangler -- it made my hair (which is thick, and somewhat coarse and dry and frizz-prone) way frizzier, and it didn't detangle well at all for me. But I do adore their Honey & Hibiscus Reconstructor -- it's the only product of theirs that I've really liked, to tell the truth! And I don't completely adore it, I just really like the smell so I shell out for it anyway.

I've tried their Green Tea and Rose serum, and I was unimpressed. I've heard raves for it, but it just seemed like a pretty darn pricy pseduo-moisturizer for me. I think it may be better for more mature skin. (I'm in my late 20s but my skin is somewhat dry, so I figured I'd give it a shot.) I've also tried the clay mask, since I got it as a free gift here, but it didn't do much for me. As green clay masks go, I thought it was rather blah -- I can make my own for much cheaper (and it'll smell better!). Not a horrible product, just not worth the price tag, IMO.

this line i have read on this forum with mixed reviews.........some are raving for it and some well the opposite...........maybe it depends on hair type to be honest rather than just for anyone........better suited to asian hair i am thinking? any comments?

I just started using the JM C serum and, dare I say it, I kind of like the smell Very Happy

The texture is not watery like most C serums, more of a milky kind of lotion. Not sure about any results as have only been using it a couple of days... also, I don’t know what the percentage of C is, which kind of bothers me as I like at least 15% minimum.

Anyway, I find it quite a pleasant product to apply, feels nice on my skin, just not sure about the effectiveness, esp as I don’t know the C %.

I have used the rose facial mist and I didn't notice any terrible side effects. Then again, I'm sure it was just rose water so how much difference could that make anyways. It was a gift so I would just keep it in my gym bag to have something light and pleasant to spray my face with afterwards.

Thanks for the heads up, that was really helpful!

I've been using the C-serum for a couple months now, and while it hasn't broken me out or anything, I can't really tell that it's made much of a difference. And with all the Vit C raves on EDS, I was hoping this would be a good one -- need to continue my Vit C search since I'm finally getting to the end of the bottle.

Oh, and I agree that it smells, but I got used to it -- and I did like the texture. But no real results...

I wonder if your C serum and eye cream have gone bad and that's why they smell awful, have a weird consistency, and irritate your skin?! I've ordered products that had gone bad before they were delivered to me. The only reason I knew was because I had used the products before and so knew what they were supposed to look/smell/feel like. Otherwise, I would just have thought the products were that way.

The only John Masters product I've tried is the Organics Rose & Aloe Hydrating Toning Mist. I LOVE it. It smells divine, feels great, and works as advertised. I'll be reordering it when I use up my other toner/misters.

what's the consistency of the citrus & neroli detangler? it says it's good for fine hair & can be left in so i imagine it's on the thin side, no?

I actually think it's on the thick side, but it rinses very clean IMO. (I hate it for my thick coarse hair, but fine-haired folks seem to adore it.) Hope that helps!

You know, we are all different, but it's great to get other peoples opinions about products. I have used the JM vitamin C and liked the smell and the results....but, the Suki Brightening Cream is better (but that is just my opinion).

The hair stuff: I have tried, and keep trying to get that 'perfect' shampoo and conditioner. At present using DR Hauschka, which was great for a couple of weeks, then I have my yearly streaks and now my hair is dry and the Dr H is not doing all that well! The dilemma, do I switch to JM or another brand that is natural. I have fine blonde hair, but lots of it. Can anyone help? Very Happy

I also tried the skin care and did not like it at all (nor do I like or use Suki any more), but I LOVE the hair products - both the shampoo and Neroli conditioner are a permanent staple.

I have dry hair and oily skin, so it is not easy to find anything that works. I alternate between JM and Seachi products.

I am using Seachi Peppermint Shampoo and Leave On Moisturizing Treatment & Hair Growth Formula. Both are excellent.

The website is www.seachi.com.
