Hello everybody, I have been watching guys on TV and some my friend have it too…know what…the six pack abs!!! It feels awesome to bear that look and it really gives me the chills to be like them. But, I am not sure whether I can make them or no. I have not consulted my friends about this (cause they always pride themselves about this...and I’m shy to ask). I do have a little weight on but I can manage to cut that down. So, do you people have any options that I can try to make things happen???

Any help will be highly appreciated!!!

I do the Gaiam Pilates DVD's at home, there is one especially for abs, but really they all focus on the "core" which is your upper ab area, I use the dvd's about 3X a week, and then cardio treadmill about 2X a week, and have noticed great results in my abs, and of course, you could always add sit ups as well. But the pilates is great for midsection.

key is to make sure that you have gotten rid of all of the "surface fat" on your midsection with cardio. Or else any thing else- sit ups, crunches etc will be futile since you will build muscle underneath the fat.
I've been doing Gunner Peterson's core secrets DVD training and it is a really good core workout.

Diet, Exercise and genetics. That's what it boils down to.

I read that you have to do a lot of cardio to cut down on your body fat or else your muscles gained from crunches will not show as they are covered by a thick layer of fat. I heard on the news report that you have to do 60 minutes of cardio 5 days a week to lose weight.

I agree that strict diet and intense exercise are a must. Genetics could be the answer to the question of how fast you get the 6-pack but it's not going to stop you from getting it. You can also take supplements to help get your muscles going faster. Just consult the guys at vitamin shoppe or other vitamin stores. They'll be happy to help.

Its like 90% diet and 10% genetics I think. You have to eat a perfectly clean diet to help get your body fat down and cardio will also help burn fat. Honestly unless its in your genes you have to be very dedicated.
