It has been a while since I last posted. However, In response to the earlier messages, I had 6 laser treatments that spread out throughout the year. After the 4th or 5th treatment, the spots had vanished, my skin had healed. The hair does grow in very little patches here and there but the hair is nice and fine. No more red spots and in grown hair. There is a big difference with my legs now as compared to then. |

I just started epilating my legs, thinking what a great idea it was. After three days of combining shaving and epilating, I've finally gotten my legs (almost) completley smoothe.
Now i'm terrorized from reading some posts on here that i'm going to get ingrown hairs and scars.
So, approximately how many of you have problems and what kind of skin did you have, and who are just dandy and what kind of skin do YOU have?
My skin is pretty solid, and my hair is black and rather thick (I'm blond though, and not particularly tanned.... main reason i've gotten SICK of shaving.)
Any advice you could give me would be great! |

I have dry skin, with occasional eczema. Despite very regular exfoliation, all epilation methods (especially epilators!) except laser removal resulted in horrendous ingrowing hairs and scars.
Since laser treatment a couple of years ago, these scars have now completely faded. |

Hmm, the dark hair follices on my legs are the absolute bain of my physical existence, bwaha!
Anybody know about the efficacy of laser hair removal on darker skinned gals? I know a few years ago, this was a no no, but it seems they've made many advances in lasers within the past year or two. |

I think those stubby things might be broken hairs instead of removed hairs..if it were hair growing back in, it would be fine hair.
I do not wait 23 days, I just go over it every few days since they grow at different speeds, little 5 minute touch-ups.
They all seem to have their "side-effects". I can't stand wax, shaving is too itchy and leaves "rug burns" on people--- whether its their face, the legs, or "wherever"...
With the in-grown hairs, I use exfoliate to keep it from happening. I would rather do that than itch.
I would like to get laser, especially for the places I can't reach that well. |
