This is not for me but for a dear friend. She has large pores (hereditary I am sure) but instead of having oily skin like most of us with large pores she has dry skin.
I can't help her because I am the oily person. I know there is no products that will shrink pores period but anyone have any ideas to help her with product choice? |

Plat,
If she hasn't had them her whole life, they could be due to aging (see link below). Has she considered going on a retinoid product to help her skin rejuvenate and tighten back up? Retin A would also help keep the pores clean and make them look a bit smaller.

Causes of Large Pores
There are two main factors that contribute to large pores: genetics and age. People who have skin that is naturally thick and oily tend to have larger pores. As people get older, too, sun damage and decreased skin elasticity can cause pores to dilate. The skin thickens, causing tiny cells to collect around the edge of the pores and make them look larger. Blackheads are also a big contributor to large pores. When the pore becomes clogged by dirt and bacteria, oil within the pore begins to accumulate, causing the pore’s diameter to expand.

Since she has dry skin, perhaps she can start with a retinaldehyde product like Avene Eluage gel or cream? These contain hyaluronic acid fragments which would help to make it less drying. |
