I'm a guy and don't use anything on my face except when I wash it. Why do I always get milia? I had them extracted once, but now a whole bunch of other ones popped up. |

Milia are formed when skin does not slough off normally but instead remains trapped in a pocket on the surface of the skin. An individual milium is formed (derived) from a hair follicle (pilosebaceous unit) or from a sweat gland (eccrine gland). In primary milia in infants, the oil gland (sebaceous gland) may not be fully developed. Secondary milia often develop after injury (trauma) or blistering of the skin, which disrupts and clogs the tubes (glandular ducts) leading to the skin surface. Secondary milia can also develop on the sun-damaged skin of middle-aged and older people.
Hope that helps! |

I don't know why I got soo many of them during pregnancy - on my chest, neck, it's terrible!. I wonder if it can be hormonal or just due to more sensitive skin and the higher body temperature |

LOL !!! Well, he can definitely rule out that cause!!
It can also be cause by using a cleanser that is too harsh....like most guys use the cheapest body bar on their face too |

An exfoliating cleanser, like Peter Thomas Roth glycolic cleanser or MD Formulations glycolic cleanser, might be helpful to prevent milia. Massage the cleanser into your wet face, let it work for some minutes (while brushing teeth, f. ex.) before rinsing. And voila! No milia! (hopefully, or at least less milia). HTH. |

What are you currently using as a cleanser? Maybe that's the culprit? |

They might not actually be milia...they could be syringoma. You might want your dermatologist to biopsy them since they seem to keep coming back. |
