I have long, thick hair, very baby fine though, and I need some help in deciding on a good conditioner for my hair. I've been using a fairly good one by Redken, but I'm not really getting the detangling ability I'd like with it.. do you kind ladies have any suggestions? OTC is pretty much crap (pardon the language) and the natural stuff just globs up my hair pretty bad, so if anyone has any recs, please share with me and my hair will thank for you for it, and so will I. |

Well, last year I discovered a drugstore conditioner I would not consider crap. Suave Naturals works fantastic for me to detangle and provide much needed moisture for my fine, color-treated hair. It's pretty basic but gets the job done, it has no silicones to weigh down the hair and also no protein. I really like the green apple one, it smells so good. I will continue to buy this and hope they never discontinue it. |

OTC is not crap. In fact is better or equal to some salon hair products. If your hair is very thin, why use conditioner???? My hair is fine, wavy but theres lots of it. I like to use Pantene Moisturizing shampoo and thats it! Ahhh the freedom from using extra hair products. A spray of shine is all I need to finish it off. |

I've tried so many otc and they just don't work for my hair. Because it's very thick, but fine, it can't rinse out very well, so that's why otc for me anyway is crap.. Pantene shampoos etc is one of those brands I'm not keen on, I'm sure it works great for a lot of people, but it's gloppy for my hair. Like I can rinse my hair for 10 minutes, dry it and I can still feel the product in my hair. Ewww.. |

Well, my hair is very fine too, so the less I use on it the better it looks! I use different shampoos in rotation to avoid buildup and then all I use to condition/detangle is Zenbiotic ActiveX. It's a spray on. "Hair regenesis & volumizer - stimulates & promotes hair growth. 100% raw natural ingredients. Powerful holistic technology" is what the label reads.
Ingred: de-ionized water, vinegar, aloe vera, mint, lemon extract, chamomile, rose, horsetail, rosemary, gum weed, wormweed and plantain.
I just spray it at the roots, massage in and comb thru to the ends. It has a faint rose smell, but it fades quickly. It doesn't leave a sticky or slimy film and it doesn't dry out my hair. It's nice to find a conditioner that has no silicones or oils to weigh it down. Perfect for us fine-haired ones! I wouldn't say it adds volume, but it does make my hair feel stronger and slows down the shedding. |

I just discovered a few nice products at Sally Beauty Supply. Their All Soft Redken knock off (I think it's called Fith Avenue soft) is really great; even better than the original I think. Loreal Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture Shampoo and Mega Moisture Treatment, and there's a Taming Spray too.
None this will amount to anything if you don't use an ACV rinse or a deep cleansing shampoo once a week. I just recently started using Neutrogena Anti Residue Shampoo (about $4 at the drugstore) followed by the Mega Moisture treatment and my hair looks great the whole week. |

Thank you Violet and Fawnie! I appreciate the advice/suggestions. I always reads a product label before I buy. I try and stick with more natural hair care products that work and are good for my hair. They aren't easy to find.. But knowing what goes into some hair care and skin care products today, scary. Formaldehyde! Yuk! No, thank you. |
