I was getting ready to order a 2% BHA liquid and the manufacturer recommends using a cleanser with a pH of 5.5 or less so that you can apply the BHA right away without waiting 30 minutes. Anything higher and you should wait to 30 minutes to apply the BHA because you won't get maxiumu exfoliation benefits.

How do I find out what the pH is of the cleanser I am currently using? I am currently using Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash and I looked at their website, neotericcosmetics, and I could not locate anything about the pH balance.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Just an update...I called the manufacturer, neotericcosmetics, and the pH level of the product (Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash) I'm using is 6.1 to 6.5. I really want something lower than this. Does anyone know if there is a list on EDS of Face Washes and their pH number?

Thanks again

Hello, Mrs.
You can use Ph-strips that you put into the solution to measure the Ph-value. I think you can purchase them from pharmacies, health food stores and Walmart.

Here is a little info:
