mpstat,
Did you question Halina about her results with the STOP? How long has she been using it etc.?

I tried to ask her, but she was so focused on the light problem that I left it without answer, but I will ask her again next time I talk to her. |

Bethany,
Thanks for posting that study, I did see it before buying, but this time around I studied it more. I would give anything if my camera would get these type of close ups because I would like to use before and afters even if it is just for myself. When I have tried to take pictures of close ups I just can't get the problem areas to show on photos even thought I see them in the mirror.

Bethany - thanks for the link! The results look promising indeed, and most importantly the pictures in the article are similar to those posted by buramiko of her mother. |

Toby - do you have a macro setting on your camera? On my Canon it is the flower mode. |

Yes I do but when I have used it I still doesn't get the quality good enough to zero in on the fine lines,it's like they are there not on the photo while the mirror is telling another story. I would like to think I have a lying mirror and a honest camera

I had my third treatment, recorded in detail all the treatment steps, lights behavior, treatment times, and emailed it to Halina yesterday. Today I talked to Halina from Win Health again, and she also emailed me a very long email with response from manufacturer regarding my case.
She said that according to the manufacturer, I am an extremely rare case that happened to have good skin already.
... This happens when the person using the device has skin that responds well to the pretreatment gel and to the effects of treatment from its very first stages and potentiates as you go on.
You should simply continue to treat by the feeling of heat and forget about the orange light. You are fortunate to have responsive tissues! Most people are exactly opposite and only aspire to achieve such results with time and after many STOP treatments.
...
In summary - Ultragen say that the device is fine and you do not need to worry about it - just continue your treatments as normal by perception of the heat. And perhaps in your case, you do not require to perform the treatment as often as the rest of us. For instance - I still do my treatment every other day, hoping to reduce it soon to twice a week and eventually to just once a week. Perhaps you should try twice a week and reducing to once a week after few weeks.
There are more explanations on why it how it is happening. I am going to keep using the device as I do now. |

I think that is everyone's concern since it is the radio waves that thermage uses. But....with it being a home device and not recommended for any area except the face, neck and hands I don't think the heat is high enough to cause the fat loss that is intended for other devices used for cellulite loss. This is certainly a good aspect to investigate. Maybe with Mpstat's connection she can check this out for us.

I asked Halina about her experience with Stop. She has been using it for 7-8 weeks every other day, and the main outcome for her was losing jowls. She also said that her neck somewhat resembled turkey neck (not quite but close), and she saw improvement. Besides these two she she uses Stop on under eyes, crows feet, under eye brows, but did not use it much on forehead.
I asked her if she is aware of any plans to manufacture a larger device suitable for body use. She did not know, and said that she is going to ask the manufacturer. |

I really did not expect such an explanation, and was pleasantly surprised Still want to minimize those fine lines on my forehead, and make skin tighter! From the images I have seen they might not disappear completely, but get minimized. |

Thanks you to mpstat and Toby for sharing the info. Does anyone know if it can be used on the neck (in the middle right where thyroid is)?
TIA |

sigma - here are conditions for the manual on when NOT to use STOP http://www.stop-age.com/faq.php#12 :

You should not use STOP™ if any of the following applies to you:

* Current - or history of - cancer, especially skin cancer or pre-malignant moles.
* Severe concurrent conditions such as cardiac disorders.

* Impaired immune system due to immunosuppressive diseases such as AIDS, or using immunosuppressive medications.

19. Can STOP™ be used on any other areas of the body other than the face?
The STOP™ has specified for use mainly on the face, but can be used on the jowl area, neck (avoiding thyroid), back of hand, and décolleté area.

Thanks Kassy! They should have put the thyroid avoidance item into contraindications section. Halina also said that the manufacturer is re-writing Stop manual. |

You're welcome!
Yes, they should really have that info readily accessible.
Mostly, I think it's a good idea to avoid the immediate thyroid area with just about all gadgets. Especially anything with a 'heat' factor.
Sis + sigma; Those two brats are indeed bloody temptresses... I knew I should have "STOPped" myself from reading this thread...Arghh!
Of course it's too late now ... |

Now guys I did give you a warning if you didn't want to be tempted not to read any further Well that probably just baited the hook, didn't it. Sorry I hate it when some people find out something that works and want to hoard it and keep it to themselves. Well not me, if I find something that works I am likely to be announcing it on public TV By the way, I do have an interview on Good Morning America tomorrow!!! JUST kidding
Toby's STOP report-things are still rocking after the 2ND treatment which was Monday night! |

The seller probably wondering what is going on with all these Stop orders!
My experience with Win Health customer service (Halina and Roy) has been very good. They respond to my inquiries very quickly. Yesterday evening I emailed Halina a facial fat loss with Stop question, and today morning already got a reply:
Yes - I am aware of the fat reducing effects of RF.
However, you do not have to really worry about the effects of the STOP in this way.
The STOP is designed to stimulate your collagen production and plump up your face as well as tone and firm your tissues. STOP is designed for your face and neck and it does not reduce the fat in those areas - it firms the flab and stops the gravitational sagging of wobbly tissues. This is all. You face will not lose its fat - it will appear toned and with smooth skin - as on younger persons. There are no side effects or nasty surprises!
... As with all beauty and fitness treatments - I would also recommend a healthy lifestyle with good diet containing some oily fish, veg and fruits, sufficient water to drink, some exercise and fresh air. On the days you are not performing the STOP treatment, use a good brand of vitamin C facial serum on cleaned face before moisturising - most cosmetic companies do vitamin C serums.
Well - hope this helps to reassure you. ... - believe me - I would not continue to use a device on myself if I had any doubts about it and we would definitely not get involved with selling of something that could do damage to people! ... The STOP is truly in a class above! So - just enjoy it and do not worry for no valid reasons!
Kind regards and a Happy New Year!
Halina |
