| Whats the best and safest mascara for contact lens wearers. |

I don't have a really "scientific" answer, i just went my own trial-and-error way and concluded that for me (lenses plus very dry eyes) YSL is best - never any irritation and gives me the effect i want.
Lancome, Estee Lauder, MAC did not work for me!!
Helena Rubinstein was OK. |

I can tell you one that doesn't work-- Rimmel.
I generally go for Maybelline mascara. There's also a new 'natural' line from wet n' Wild (surprisingly) that I like. The mascara goes on nicely and doesn't flake into my eyes.
I never pay more than $10 for mascara. If you use contacts you should replace your mascara often. I probably use a tube for two months then pitch it. |

I wear contacts daily and use Maybelline Full 'n' Soft waterproof with no problems.
Not sure about other brands, but I will add that you should avoid any mascara with fibers in it. |

| Huh? Safe for people that wear contacts? I don't get it. I've never had a single problem with ANY mascara i've used in my life. From cheap crap to the most expensive stuff. I have worn soft and hard contacts as well. Never heard of someone having problems before lol. |

| I've worn contacts for 20+ years, and for most of that time I've used Max Factor 2000 Calorie mascara. As well as being fantastic lash-building wise it's very smudge proof and doesn't flake. |

If you look at the back of a package of mascara you want to see "safe for contact lense wearers" or "opthamologist tested" or, better yet, both. If a mascara doesn't say either of these things, I don't buy it.
If you get something behind your contact lense, say a flake or fiber of mascara, it hurts! And, it could potentially scratch your eye giving you a corneal abrasion which then could become infected. So, it does matter what sort of mascara you use. It also matters what brand/ type of contacts you use. All soft lenses are not created equal.
i once had a problem, not related to mascara-- my vision became blurry, so I went to the eye dr. THe contacts I was wearing didn't let enough oxygen get to my eye and as a result my corneas were swollen. I didn't even wear these contacts all day; I took them out at night. |

I guess i just had really good luck with mascara. I had the same problem about not getting enough oxygen to my corneas. Now i just wear hard contacts!

Blinc's Kiss Mascara. I wear contacts and this one is good.
I agree with the no fiber etc. mascara. |
