An anti-histamine usually helps, AM, but I agree it's probably best to see a doctor.

How are you now? I get that alot and so does DS. In our case the itching is caused by environmental and food allergies and for DS even temperature changes (hot bath for example). Try not to scratch. DS starts out with no rash but ends up scratching so much that he gets a big red rash. Benedryl almost always helps.

Sometimes the skin around my neck just gets itchy for no reason... but i've noticed usually it's when the weather is really humid and sticky Confused For those situations, I'll use rosewater to wipe off my skin and then put a little johnson's talcum powder on my skin. I find that helps to ease the itching... Hope that helps!

When you itch, do you get dry flakes?

I don't know where you live - or what the weather is like where you are - but it could be due to the change of seasons.

When I lived in a colder climate - every fall I would get the same symptoms it looks like you're experiencing. If it's the same thing that I "had" - then it's just a reaction to the change in humidity and temperature. I would even get hives from itching/scratching so much! Tepid baths (not hot!) help - as well as very emollient body lotions immediately after. This helps to seal in moisture in the skin - and prevent dehydration. Also a few anti-histamines (Benadryl) help to calm the overall reaction.

However, if you're at all worried - and if this lasts for more than a few days - I would definitely consult a doctor.

Hope this helps - and hope you stop itching soon!

I was thinking change of seasons too and need for extra moisturizing (internally and externally) - for example, essential fatty acids.

But also do some detective work and see if there's anything new in your environment or usage (i.e., like a new body wash).

Hope it clears up soon!

Thanks for the tips girls. No, its nothing serious. I don't have a use flaking rash. I too, like some posters said I think is due to the weather or maybe my laundry detergent? And I not CONSTANTLY itchy 24/7, just more often than I would like. I live in Vancouver, BC so our weather IS changing.
