Banana Boat Powder-Dri. Comes in Sport, Kids and Sensitive (unfragranced). Dries to a powder finish, doesn't sweat off or get in your eyes. I use the Sensitive and it works really well.

For waterproof sunblock - I like Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock, SPF 85.

For overall sunscreen - I like La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL SPF 60. (It's pretty emollient - so if you prefer your sunscreen to be a bit lighter yet still protective, you might wish to try the Lait version)

Hope this helps!

I like just plain titanium or zinc oxide in the clear, works great without the junk!

My favorite is Neutrogena age shield 45 SPF (also comes in 30), which I put on all over before I dress. It has to sink in for a while before you get the full benefit. My sport is golf, which is a minimum of 4 hours straight in the sun, so I bring it in cream and spray form for re-applications. The spray is easier to apply on the fly, doesn't get on your palms to mess up your grip, and feels nice and cool. Neutrogena make the spray, but so does Coppertone, which I also use. It's all good as long as it blocks UVA and UVB rays.

My surgeon just gave me samples of the Neutregena after my laser treatment. It has high SPF,it's very dry and won't break you out.

Does the spray kind get into yr hair etc ... easy to use, ie even properly on face without finger spreading it? Like the idea that u don't need to mess up hand.

Hi Fairrene,

The spray kind is not really supposed to be used on the face (at least that's what it says on the bottle) - but I use it on my face all the time with no problems.

You don't need to spread it out with your fingers - and it doesn't get too much in the hair if you're careful with how you spray.

However, it does seem to give kind of an oily sheen if you apply a lot - so it may not be ideal, depending on where you're going or what you're going to do. (i.e. work, etc...)

If you do spray it on your face, I would definitely recommend closing your eyes tightly, holding your breath - and waiting about 30 seconds to a minute before opening your eyes. (I learned this the hard way!)

When I'm out in the sun for a long time, I only use Sofina Perfect UV SPF 50 or Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection SPF 50. These are the only ones that I've tried that stay on my face even when I sweat a lot.

I actually prefer Sofina over Shiseido only because it is much easier to apply being in a milky/liquid form. However, it is not readily available here in Canada and I always have to get it online from Hongkong.
