In my last EDS order was the forum gift of an eyeshadow from Glominerals in the color Banana. I'd never tried that brand for any makeup needs, so I had not pre-existing biases for or against. But I have to say, the quality of it is impressive. It's a very finely milled powder that applies and blends quite well. No shimmer at all in this one, so I can't speak to how shimmery colors would look. But this one is a matte, very pale yellow--more the color of heavy cream than banana, actually. Good staying power and no creasing, unlike some mineral makeup eyeshadows that I've tried. It would be a good base powder, and you can also use it under or over a cream eyeshadow.
Color me impressed. |

| I LOVE GloMinerals, but of the eyeshadows, I've only tried a cream coloured one, which I believe is called Bamboo? It's a really smooth, pigmented E/S, and I love the brightening effect that it has. I'm normally not one who wears makeup on my eyes apart from mascara, but I still like a light colour on my lid, which I feel makes me look more awake. This one definitely fits the bill, but because the amount that you get for your money is so small, I'll continue using my EDM Multitasking concealer for this purpose, and reserve my Bamboo for special occasions. |
