I was just wondering because they come in different percentages and the higher percentages seem to be for oiler skin. |

Not by my experience, but I also use a pretty good moisturizer because I have dry skin to start with. |

Then what do the different percentages mean? |

I use a 12% concentration. Most of the products range from 10 to 20%. Some people find Vitamin C irritating, and depending on the base in which it is dissolved, it may cause breakouts for some. I haven't had either problem myself and have found Vitamin C serum to be extremely effective in evening my skintone and reducing hyperpigmentation.
There are a number of published scientific studies demonstrating the benefits of Vitamin C. I wouldn't be without it. |

different percentages usually mean different amount of an active ingredient present in a serum, usually l-ascorbic acid.
thus, 10% vit.C serum has 10% of l-ascorbic acid, while 20% - 20% respectively...

usually it is recommended that you start with the lowest %, say 10% vit.C serum, then move your way higher if your skin responds well. Very high % can irritate skin, but to many people (if there is no irritation) it`s high % that makes the difference. |
