Lucyluc you can use it top and bottom lashes. It lasts ages, I've had my bottle for months. Bought 2 bottles, as the shipping's high, along with 12 tubes of retin a. I use ALOT of retin a as I use it on my face, neck chest and arms.

All I can tell you at this point is that a bottle lasts several months. I'm still on my first, it's been a month or two, and there's plenty left. How I apply it:
I turn the bottle upside down and let the tiniest drop possible fall onto my ring finger. I touch that to the ring finger on my other hand, and sweep the damp fingertips across my lashlines, first above with my eyes closed, then below while looking up. I then sweep the excess over my eyebrows, or rub it into my hairline or part. One drop is still more than you need, and I hate to waste it. On the other hand, I have no intention of trying to conserve it by using some sort of applicator. It's so cheap compared to the cosmetic formulas that I see no point to taking any risk of contamination or spilling.

I'm just wondering if applying it this way has caused you to sprout a few hairs on your eyelids?

I have only used Lumigan up until now, mixed into another eyelash conditioner and applied with an eyeliner brush. Even though I was careful to keep it concentrated just at the lash lines, I sprouted several hairs in the corners + eyelids that had to be plucked often.

I'm going to start using the Lumigan straight, but will stick to the eyeliner brush.

Has anybody who has used Lumigan a while, noticed a change in eye color?

Hey Kassy, I've been using Lumigan since mid June this year and I've seen a huge difference. I took before and after photos, i'm a graphic designer so one day (while bored) I got on photoshop to layover the photos to see how much of a difference there was between the photos from June and the photos from October (a few weeks ago). My eyelashes were literally 40%-50% longer. I couldn't believe it. To be honest... I'm just happy I found this stuff before my friends did!! Cool Also, I'm still on my first bottle; and I apply to my top & lower lashes along w/ my eyebrows.

I have blue/green eyes and I've seen no color change or spots, and the photos have helped me realize that as well.

Great news that you've had such nice eyelash growth. Has anyone noticed new growth on "eye brows"?

Thanks for the tip about getting an Rx from the doctor. I've requested for one....don't know if she'll do it but it's worth the try. Is Lumigan a clear liquid or gel?

Cool! Thanks, skin care addict.

Just a question for the lumigan users. Some have reported increased length ranging from 30-50% Holy smokes, that's significant. Is this about the average, typical results for the rest? Can you please let me know. Thanks.

Kassy,
No to both of your questions - no hairs sprouting on my lids, and no change in eye color. Even though I use my fingers, I'm very careful to put the stuff just on my lashlines, and also not to get any in my eyes. FYI, the eye color change wasn't that common a side effect even in glaucoma patients putting it in their eyes. I've never seen a post from anyone using either the meds or any eyelash growth product based on it seeing a change in eye color.
Blaze,
Some lashes are much longer than others, but I'd say even the shortest are about 1/3 longer than they used to be, and the longest ones are almost double the former length. And I have more lashes than ever.
Skincare,
I was just trying to get back brow hairs I'd lost to over-tweezing, so some of them may have returned naturally, but I think the Lumigan helped.

Generally speaking, 20ish drops equals 1 ml. So a 3 ml bottle has 60ish drops, and if applied with an eyeliner brush, probably 1/2ish drop would be enough for both eyes..

So long story short, 1 bottle will probably last about 3 1/2 to 4 months, depending how heavy handed you are.

Hope that's clearish.. Very Happy

Hello my fellow Eyelash friends,

I have a semi-emergency..(depending on how important you think your long lashes are) Okay so I made my first order via Alldaychemist and there's something wrong with my order. I think I put something wrong in my billing address. Because I log into my account and it still says the order is "pending." The problem: According to my confirmation email from Alldaychemist, they can't confirm my order or make any corrections to it for another 2-3 business days and I'm out of my Lumigan totally!!! I've done some reading (as I'm sure we all have) and know that if I don't keep up my daily Lumigan application then my beloved lashes will start to fall out fairly soon. Shock

I'm seeing "someone special" on thanksgiving and I want to look my best Sad

So... I'm asking a huge favor but if you understand my concern then at least hear me out: I was wondering if anyone would be willing to do a transaction via Paypal and possibly send me 1 bottle (whatever size) in the mail AFTER I've paid you via Paypal??? I have a Confirmed Paypal Address so you would have Seller Protection if anything happen to the package. I could of course pay you ++ EXTRA $ for this big favor I'm asking and I'd pay for Shipping Insurance and Delivery Confirmation.

If anyone out there would be willing to help out a desperate girl (I'm desperate... it took me 4.5 months to get my lashes at the length they are now!!!) --then reply to this wonderful thread! Smile

If anyone is interested, I'll know when you reply because I get them forwarded to my email and from there I can give you my email address, etc.

I've just come across this thread and would like to ask if you know that it is totally safe to use this product. Lumigan is used to treat glaucoma and lowers raised pressure in the eye. I think I would be worried about using something that alters intraocular pressure.

Keliu,
If you're careful to not get ANY of this in your eyes, where glaucoma patients are putting it, I don't see how it could affect your intra-ocular pressure. Of course, I'm not a doctor - but I imagine the dermatologists who do prescribe this off-label for eyelash/brow growth feel the same. And the original Revitalash formula, which contained the exact same active ingredient, was developed by an opthamologist, who also must have thought it was safe to use on the eyelids.
That said, I don't believe any studies have been conducted on long-term use of the product for eyelash growth, so no one can swear that it's 100% safe. If that concerns you, maybe you should stick to products like Talika Lipocils that have been used safely for decades. That's basically an anti-bacterial, but some people have gotten very good results.
At 57, I'm more open to experimenting than I used to be, since I have fewer years of side effects to worry about. And compared to other things some posters are using on themselves (like 1.5 mm + dermarollers at home!), this seems pretty innocuous.

Hi Keliu, The intraocular pressure would only be affected when the drops are 'repeatedly' distilled in the eye itself.. Shouldn't be any worry if just carefully and lightly applied at the lashline.

Just an FYI...it usually takes me 3 weeks to get an order delivered from alldaychemist to FL. So if people are worried about running out they really need to plan well in advance. (as in order 2 bottles, and reorder when you start the 2nd one).

And sorry, I don't have any Lumigan to ease the crisis...this is probably the only thing I haven't ordered yet, lol.

hi everyone,

i've been working for a glaucoma specialists for a few years now and as a first hand observant i can tell you lumigan grows eyelashes, no doubt about it. even before all the hype about lumigan growing lashes my patients knew that their lashes are no products of good genes.

however, i want to throw in something for you all to consider. just my two cents, not trying to talk anyone into or out of anything. just think about it before you use a prescription drug for non-FDA approved purposes. weight out your pros and cons. some of lumigan's side effects are pretty showstopping.

first of all, lumigan is most effective when prescribed as a QHS or Q12H. that simply means use at night time or once at night and once in the morning. this is for a reason. that is timing in which you natural intraocular spikes the most therefore making lumigan most effective. similarly that is also about the same time most of us (yes, myself included) apply our lumigan onto our lashline/lids.

make no mistake about it, even though we are applying it onto our lash lines, some of lumigan IS actually going into our eyes. the logic is much similar to how you will always ingest your lip products when you apply them onto your lips even when you are not eating.

take a good guess where your tear ducts are and where your tears are going. so don't ever kid yourself that just because you are not dropping the drug directly into your eyes that none of it is going in.

as for myself, i was reluctant to try it on my own nonexistent lashes up until recently. but having the access to unlimited (and free) lumigan was too much to bear. after once nightly use for one week, applied by squeezing a few drops onto a qtip and swab it across my lash lines. there is a dramatic 30+% increase in length, thickness and i even developed a stunningly natural upwards curl.

that came at a trade off for me however; possibly due to my profession i'm extremely aware of changes in my own eye. but i won't go into further detail with that.

i'm totally open to any questions or concerns anyone has. i will try to answer them to the best of my knowledge. if not, i can always relay them to my allergan/lumigan rep. now, that girl has some killer lashes..

Hi there 'sourpatchme' and welcome to the forum.

It's nice to have a Lumigan *insider* in our midst. Hopefully you can answer a few questions definitively, that we have mostly speculated about until now.

**I would just like to know anything you can offer relating to eye color change....

**What percentage of patients with blue, green or hazel eyes experienced darkening color?

**How long was the treatment before color change became apparent?

One thing I do recall about Bimatoprost as related to color change in the Iris, is that it can still happen even up to one year after treatment is stopped.. Shock

You mentioned changes to your own eyes, would you care to elaborate? You also mentioned using "a few drops", so perhaps that has caused your 'changes'.. Shock

For myself, I'll be applying 1/2 drop to upper eyelids every night before beddy-bye. (.5 gtt qd @ HS) I will also be avoiding the corners of each eye, which I believe will greatly reduce the chance of seepage into the tear troughs. I also noted that when applied lightly, it is fully absorbed into the skin very quickly..

Just an FYI regarding alldaychemist.com I think it depends what day of the week and time of the month the order is processed, that has to do with how long a wait it is.... I'm wondering if they do all the mailings just maybe once per week?.. I only ordered from them once so far, but I actually received my order in 6 days... I'm in South Florida, and I think I just hit it lucky, and bethany's order took 3 weeks to Fl. Sad (I have to go back through my July posts to see exactly what date/day I ordered... hmm )

I'm 58 - and desperate! As most on the Forum would know, I'm open to trying anything and yes, I use a 1.5 dermaroller. (Which, BTW, I've been using for over a year now with no ill effects. Do some research and you'll find that it's a perfectly safe procedure).

However, I am a little concerned about putting medication in or around the eyes. I did try the original Jan Marini product but it caused so much stinging I stopped using it.

I was interested to read Sourpatchme's post and it's reassuring to know that an "insider" is using Lumigan. But I hope that she answers Kassy's questions, I'll look forward to her reply.
