How to you handle your mascara from being dried up before its finished?. This happens to me always, the first few times it goes on alrite.....but then it is more thicker...i can feel it because it feels more harsher on the lashes and i have to try a number of times to get the same effect/look. HOwever the first couple of uses i have to use it like once or twice and im done and bottom lashes are really easy to do as well. When it is thicker i end up usually smudging the eye area while doing the bottom lashes...so annoying.
I mean the problem is while your using the wand on your lashes air is getting inside your mascara tube and drying it up slightly......Makes me want to just throw it away when its gone abit dry but i feel bad throwing away something before i have finished it. So what do you do from keeping your mascara from drying up in your tube? Cause it is not closed while your using the wand.
please share.
thanks |

I use Maybelline Great Lash most of the time (I have tried Mirenesse Secret Weapon and gone back to Great Lash) but this hasn't really happened. It doesn't dry fast on your lashes either so it's easier to put on multiple coats. I know this isn't helping you much but IMO that's the best mascara out there and it cost $4. |

Hiya Simran -
That's a bummer if your mascara dries up too soon. I do know that they recommend not pumping the wand up and down when you're trying to get the mascara on the wand before application. The excess air in the tube contributes to drying.
Also, though it's really difficult to do - they recommend tossing mascara tubes three months after you've opened it. Generally, for me, this means I'm supposed to toss the tube before I'm even halfway through with using the product. This is because mascara does get contaminated (no matter how careful we are) with bacteria - and the eyes are very delicate (and important!).
One thing I do to help the mascara application - is to occasionally clean the spoolie brush (the applicator) with some soap and water - get it really clean and free of "gunk" and then sterlize it with a dash of rubbing alcohol. I let the brush dry a bit before putting it back in the tube. Really seems to help make mascara application a bit easier.
I'm sure that other forum members have great ideas too - but this works for me.
Hope this help! |

Some mascara's do dry out faster then others. I find maybellines full n soft to stay wet longer. Also replace every 3 months and never add anything to try to make it more wet again(it can just harbor bacteria). |

thanks the current one i am using is from clinique...........i dont really have a preference in terms of mascara for one particular brand...........i dont think a particular brand of mascara can make ur lashes look fuller or bigger or whatever......It is what you have naturally and the mascara makes it just stand out more. The current one from clinque i got as a free gift so i been using it lol and i had my driving instructor ask me wow are those your real lashes they are almost touching your eyebrows so long!
i never took much notice about my lashes before but hey i guess i can make this feature of mine stand out more now |

Back when I was in college (and broke) to make a tube last longer I would put it in the sink to float in hot water for a few minutes. It would make the mascara more runny and so easy to apply, wouldn't clump at all. Now that I'm older and working, I just replace the tube as soon as it starts to dry up. Right now I am loving Cover Girl Lash Blast. I think it's only about $6 and I find it doesn't clump at all. |

When it starts to clump thats my time to toss it.But,I have used Dianas tip of warm water. Adding alcohol sounds like it would be harmful.I'm still loving Covergirls Lash Blast too ! |

Ooooh I detest drying up mascaras! I usually throw them out. Look for the wetter, more fluid mascaras such a Lancome or Great Lash. L'Oreal Voluminous make a fluid mascara too and YOU WILL get a full 3 months out of these. |

i dint like the loreal one ......it dried up tooo quick for me too.......i think i tried the lash architect last time (not sure if thats the proper name).......and before that i tried another loreal but that one which was waterproof.
i now prefer mascaras that are not waterproof way easier to take off
il look into some of the other brands mentioned here and will try that warm water tip as well |
