I love the sofina lucent, mostly becuase it smoothes my oily skin out beautifully and remains oil-free all day. Amazing.

BUT that white cast is horrible. I've tried layering a darker foundation over but looks unnatural.

Has anyone figured out how to get rid of the white cast?

That is called ghosting. I am wondering if you could mix in some MMU with it?

My ZO Skin Health Oclipse sunscreen is tinted to avoid the ghosting, which is what made me think of that option.

Bongo, if you can try the ZO Skin Health Oclipse, I think you will love it. I LOVE Sofina and did not think I would ever use another sunscreen, but the ZO Oclipse is now my all time favorite sunscreen. It is perfect, leaves a beautiful smooth finish, and no white cast!

It also doubles as a primer under your makeup. I have to admit that that it is the best sunscreen I have ever used.

BTW, this appears to work on most skin colors...darker as well as pale.

That will dilute the sunscreen effectiveness, won't it?

Sorry, Bongo, I don't know of anything else to suggest to you! .Have you tried applying the Sofina a little bit, letting is sink in, and then applying more? That may help a little with the white cast.

as far as i know i dont think it should dilute the effectiveness unless your SS is a chemical one and you using some tinted moisturizer which has minerals such as zinc or titanium etc. As i have read about SS with avobenzone in it will have its effectiveness reduced or it will degrade if used with minerals/MMU

I use Sofina Lucent too. I mix it with a few drops of liquid bronzer to darken it a bit. I use Biotherm or Clinique liquid bronzer(more brown) when my skin tone is darker in the summer and I mix it with Stila liquid bronzer (more peach)in the colder months when my skin is lighter.

I also didn't like the white cast that untinted physical sunscreens can leave, and then I tried Elta MD physical spf41. It applies smoothly and the tint prevents any white cast.

I apply NCN's Sheer Mineral Tinted Moisturiser over the Sofina. This takes away the white cast plus it also has an SPF of 20.

I would try the tinted version of Sofina--the Nuance Up next time.

I don't remember the chemical blocker in the Sofina, but i recall only avobenzene adversely affects physical blockers.
