I've done this before, but with salt. In a large plastic jar, I poured sea salt, added a good oil, like avocado oil or olive oil, and used it in the shower for a body scrub. You can also add a few drops of essential oil. I especially like sandalwood. |

Add some honey (Manuka honey) to your sugar scrub. It will be a little tougher to massage through the skin, but it's good because honey has antibacterial properties. Also, it leaves the skin supple and moist too. |

This was one of the first DIY recipes I ever tried
I used to make a big batch of it, rub it all over my body before stepping into a hot shower. It leaves your skin super soft. |

Actually, as a fan of this particular herb, if I ever try make this sugar-scrub again I'm going to add pinches of turmeric to it.
I'll let you know how it goes if I do. I've made myself really want to try it again now |

For those of you with super-dry flaky winter skin a nice ( & cheap!!) sugar scrub is to take a cheap or your favorite lotion dump it in a large mixing bowl, saturate it with sugar. Mix well. Transfer to smaller lidded jars/bowls. After your shower, but before turning off the water use your scrub shoulders to toes - rinse. Viola!! You're now scrubbed clean of flakies and moisturized now too. |
