Hi All - I tried Renova years ago with horrible flaky results. I'd like to ease my way back into the world of retinols and I'm looking at Green Cream Level 3 and Retin-A Micro .04%.
- Your advice - as always - is greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Jan

Retin A Micro is suppose to be less irritating than the other retinoids. with it's microsphere technology, it's suppose to release the tretinoin more slowly over the course of the night and cause less problems. it also has a higher pH and that in itself is less of a problem (less acidic)

a retinoid is going to be a lot stronger than a retinol. can you get some samples of the micro to see how it works for you?

I would go for Retin-A Micro because retinoic acid is more effective and will most likely give better and faster results than an OTC retinol product like Green Cream. I think most people tolerate prescription strength retinoic acid products, but it's important to start out with application twice a week and gradually build up to 5-7 times a week in order to minimize redness, flaking and irritation. You can also apply a moisturizer prior to Retin-A during the first weeks to make it even less irritating.

I haven't used RAM in any strength, but did use GC in L3 and L6. It dried my skin a lot and it became sensitive (which I never thought it was, before). I know GC works very well for a lot of people, but didn't for me. I get better results from Avene Retrinal. I know you are not interested in that, but I just thought I would mention it. Smile
