My derm is raving about it, and says it lasts 2 years...they are also going to come out with a lip filler in December.

Ok..I'm scheduled to have this filler in a few wks. It's so new, I'm a little leary, but favoring it because supposedly there is less bruising. Bethany, since you are the Roller Queen," let me ask you about rolling over fillers. Yea or Nay? Do you think rolling disturbs the injectable or shortens its life?

mountaingirl,
I have not tried the new fillers, Evolence and Prevelle Silk but I did do some digging and Dr. Lamm will not use it. Apparently, you are getting less of the filler because the vial also contains s numbing agent and he says the initial reports are that it does NOT last as long as the other fillers. I will be watching to see what your experience is.

I honestly don't know the answer to that question (yet).

Injectables actually help spur new collagen development due to the stretching of fibroplasts, though that doesn't necessarily work the same way as the wound cascade does. It probably comes down to what happens to hylaronic acid (for Juve and Resty injections) during the wound healing cascade....if it breaks down, then their longevity is shortened. If it doesn't break down, their longevity could stay the same. And if the various growth factors, enzymes, etc. released during the wound cascade support HA, then they might last longer. I'll have to look into that further.

I get filler in my lips (which I don't roll) and my marionette line (which I do roll). I do make certain that I don't roll over that area for at least 2 weeks, though I am going to time my next injections to ensure that there are 4 to 6 weeks between the injections and my next roll.

But I hoping that if facial exercise pays off for me, I can skip the marionette line fillers in the future! I am definitely getting way less filler than I used to, and I attribute that to the collagen developed during my previous injections and possibly dermarolling.

As far as Evolence is concerned, I am going to wait and see what happens after 6-12 months of my derm using it on other people. I seem to absorb filler fairly quickly, and Juvederm Ultra Plus (the thickest one) is the only one that really lasts for me. That makes me a bit hesitant to change, since I will end up paying to try something new, and then pay again if it doesn't work. Rolling Eyes
