Hello All,

I posted a few messages a couple of weeks ago asking about rashes that occur from eye creams and what to do.

Basically I was using Decleor Expressions eye cream for all of this year up until I started getting a mysterious sore patch in the inside corners of my eyes. It developed quite rapidly and I could not even put normal moisturisers on to it and ended up having to use vaseline on my eyes for about two weeks till the sore spots cleared up.

I then began to notice small vertical lines going from my inner eye corners down towards my cheeks - they looked horrible. I started to use another eye cream which did not irritate thankfully but did absolutely no good for these new weird lines (Roc retinal A)

Last weekend I bit the bullet and bought another bottle of the Decleor (stupid I know but this stuff really worked wonders on my lines). I used it all last week and these new vertical lines started to go away. By Friday I noticed a few little red bumps under my eyes and just hoped like hell they would go away. By yesterday morning I had developed another rather similar ailment of sore dryness around my eyes which was so horrible I did not go out of the house all day!

I am in a real bad place right now - the eye cream that does wonders I cannot use and nothing else seems to help and I'm yet again left with horrible dry red spots and feeling really ugly.

If someone could perhaps recommend another good eye cream I could use or tell me why I'm getting vertical lines and soreness which I never had before I'd be very grateful as it's driving me mad!

Sorry for the rant - I needed to get this out!!

Thank you

Vee

Vee26 have you changed anything else in your routine that would be reacting with the eye cream that you were not using before?

One place to start is to figure out what the "active" ingredient is in the Decleor and see if you can find just that active at a DIY site and try just that.

Funny I wonder if it is the change in seasons? I know my skin reacts to the change.

Perhaps you developed more of a sensitivity to one of the ingredients over time? Or maybe the formulation has been changed?

It even sounds as though it might even be something like eczema?

How awful that you finally found an eye cream you really like, and now you can't use it.

Is it possible that you are sensitive to the essential oil in the product? And the essential oil based eye products could not be applied to close to the eyes, just around the bones will be fine.

I am so sorry to hear that it happened to you! I have allergy to many products, and yes you can use it for a few weeks and develop allergy to a product. It happened to me many times. I had this problem with Dr. Haushka. I start use eye cream and I liked it, but after 3 days my skin break out with hives. For the same reason I can't use Decleor, but with Decleor I had an instant reaction. Be careful with a products, especially if you are just starting to use them.

I had a similar experience with - i think - mineral makeup. I still can't exactly pinpoint the culprit, because even now, a few weeks after stopping it, i'm still not fully back to normal.
But that was the only thing that i had changed. I was so excited to finally find a MMU that worked for me (as i am trying to go as much as possible towards organic/natural products). And have played around with these nice powders (including mineral eye shadow), only to find out after a few days the same red/dry patches under my eyes that you mentioned.

I quickly stopped using the new mineral makeup, and got back to my normal routine, but the red patches stayed... So, i tried old/new eye creams etc... some days better, some days worse. Finally, i am now using only organic oils to remove makeup, and (funnily enough!) Decleor's Iris balm around the eyes. These 2 things seem to work well, and the red patches are much reduced, and seemingly/hopefully are going away.

One more thing - it could also be an internal problem. I, for example, have also started taking flax seed oil and zinc. For you - there might be some other mineral/vitamin deficiencies, that usually in the winter are exacerbated, and make you more sensitive to products you otherwise would have coped well with.

I've been using Dr. Hauschka daily revitalizing eye cream for over 2 yrs now, and all of a sudden i notice my entire eye area is covered with red dots. I applied the cream and the red intensified immediately so I gently wiped off with cold water.

Can anyone shed light on this? I am thinking to do chamomile teabags on my eyes this evening.

Never had such an issue before. Any suggestions?
