A few months ago, I mentioned about a diamond-shaped red mark that formed under the tip of my nose. It appeared back in 2000 when I was in the 9th grade. Since then I have applied everything from Retin-A Micro, L-Glutathione, Papaya/Kojic Acid, Tyrostat (A more powerful version of Alpha Arbutin). All these did amazing things for my face but no result on the red mark on my nose. I also used tools such as dermaroller, clarisonic brush, and baby quasar to remove it.
With that said, you can tell its really bothering me. And yes I do use a foundation but if I get a cold or go swimming it comes right off. Aside from that, wearing foundation makes me feel like I'm lying about my natural appearance.
I read about the different types of skin resurfacing lasers. Aside from many complaining about the results being temporary. And others who went for lasers outside of cool touch said it made their scar even more red.
My dermatologist seen it and said it needed plastic surgery. But once again thats expensive and I really don't want any surgeon cutting my nose.
I seen this whitening chemical called mono completely depigs the skin color and I was tempted to just use it on that red marking but I'm not sure if that would be a wise decision. especially being thats what a certain 80s pop star has been using on his skin.
right now I'm stumped. if anyone has any other ideas please let me know. |

I think its going to depend on what is causing/making up the red spot.
If its blood vessels for example you will likely need laser. Those types of lasers are much gentler then say fraxel (which no one seems to rec anyway).
There are a lot of derms that don't know much about the cosmetic side of things so I would set up a few consults with PS's (I would probably make sure they do offer lasers first, as not all do) and see what they have to say. Or try a different derm, many offer cosmetic treatments now.
You could also try a laser clinic but I'm often leery of them because rarely do dr's or nurses actually do the procedures at those places. |

There have been two threads started on this topic. Please only start one since most forum members read the entire forum and not just sections of it. In the interest of keeping things neater, I'm locking this thread. Please post any responses to: http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=31644 instead.
Thank you. |
