hi all (long time
i started using a combination of THESE oils as a mositurizer :
equal amounts of :
Jojoba oil + rosehips oil + evening primrose.
i'm willing to give it a try (even a few monthes trial), but - do you think it can help ?
i wanna improve my skin. texture , clarity, evenness, and especially pigmentation -
brown pigmentation and red old stubborn marks from acne that just won't won't go away.
rose hips is marketet as a miracle product for skin...
questions :
1. do you think a clearer skin can be expected ?
2. the combination is very greasy... and stays like grease of my face even after an hour ? should i blot ot after an hour ? will it still be effective ?
3. skin seems greasy but not moisturered . can it be ?
4. my experience in past and also now from rose hip oil that it actually brings the brown pigmentation to the surface (it always seems like when i use it , faded pigmentation starts to rise...) i don't know... can it be ? ( i'm afraid i'm doing more damage ... althoght the rose hip oil should actually help with pigmentatiion...
thanks all |

Did the TCA peel not help with this? I had heard that rosa mosquata (sp?) is good for scarring due to vit A and epo has good dose of E (you would do well to take as an oral supplement as well!). I don't know about jojoba oil. For improving clarity I'd go for a C serum...My skin tone is really good since using one and the texture is much better. Maybe you could use it under your oil. As to oil being greasy, as they are plant oils they should be absorbed into your skin. I suspect that you are probably using too much. Try putting 3-5 drops in the palm of your hand and bring both palms together. Press your palms over your face...kind of like blotting your face with palms. You may need to experiment with the amount of oil, but your skin doesnt need to swim in the stuff for it to be effective. HTH, Liz |

the tca was a dissappionment.
well - i can say it did improved my skin clarity in a defeinte was of 30-50 percent.
but as i was warned... (also by my doctor) the pigmentation IS cominmg back (
even due using a sunscreen and not going in the sun etc.
as for the red marks - no - no change (and my doctor said TCA peel 25 % is not much for red marks.
about the oils -
do u think i can use Vit v. beneath the oils (cause i really wanna use vit c. serum) but i thought rose hips oil does have vit c. already.
also i use only 1-2 drop of each oil and it's still so so greasy (
well.i guess it isn't a replacement for a mositurizer |

I would use the C serum under the oil. How big are your 'drops'? I can't imagine 2 drops on a whole face making it greasy, unless your skin is already oily. You may find that if this is the case it takes a while for your skin to adjust. I'm sorry that the peel didn't have all the effects you hoped for, but getting good skin takes time. Can I recommend this stuff to you?
http://www.sircuitskin.com/inc/pdetail?v=1&pid=2270
I bought a sample of this and have been using it on one side of my face as a trial for the last week. It happens to be the side that got burnt badly by a home glycolic peel that went wrong. It may be coincidence, but for the first time in 4 months my scarring is almost invisible. It is hideously pricy, but I think when I have my next blowout (easter grant cheque ) I may buy. I have been seriously impressed!
That said, like I say it takes time and you need some patience to give things time to work. Keep a good diet, take EPO supplements and drink plenty of fluids.

hi,
first of all i forgot to thank you you write so clearly and helpfully . and you cheered me up a little. althouh i have red marks that are there for years
the stuff you recommended , well, i would try it - but it really way way over expensive. can you describe more what it does for you ? can u see a real improvemnet in red marks ? or scars ?
i'm starting to give up on my skin.
i don't have acne. i have nice face, but terrible texture that makes is terrible to look closely
for the past 3 years i've been trying to take care of my skin - many ways and products. nothing helped in terms of regaining my skin to a watchable postion.
making peace with you flaws is a stage in life i guess... (sigh)
thanks again |

Hello Some,
Maybe I can offer you some advice & info.
The oils you are using are great products for the skin found in nature. They will nourish & moisturize your skin, but as far as seeing a dramtic improvement in skintone with this combination, I doubt it. Jojoba oil is reknowned for moisturizing skin and it is great for dry, sensitive skins.
You could certainly use these over a moiturizer or even mixed in with your moisturizer if you are finding them too oily. Add a few drops to your cream.
Second, I would highly suggest looking into the Yonka line.
They make a lightening repair care Cream 40 & Solution 46. Thay have 2 other products for skin with diffused redness: Phyto 54 & Cream 11. Yonka is one of my favorite lines and is natural yet effective. This line cured my breakouts a few years ago and the products are amazing, I think these would really be worth a try. If nothing else, you HAVE to get the Phyto 54...please!!! Excellent product |

Miss Shoes,
thank you so much , you are so kind of writing all that.
i was a bit hoping to actially "see" results from the oils i'm using (and i don't mind waiting even monthes. at least if it does something. my only fear now is that is will increase my brown spots or create new ones on the surface.
about this Yonka products - sorry if it sounds silly - but -
can you say it can clear (at least some) of my old red acne areas (i don't have acne or pimples. maybe one every few days. but the surface of my skin is with red spotted flat areas of brown and red small pigmentations from old acne).
can the yonka products "disappear" those areas ? (i remember when i was younger , every pimple healed completely ,and skin looked smooth again
and if i want to purchase , which products should i buy ? their product names sounds like military codes "creame 54, lotion 13 " |

Okay,
It sounds like we have a couple of issues/concerns going on here.
First, in all honesty, you could use your oil mixture for the rest of your life and while it is healthy for your skin, I seriously doubt that it will do anything dramatic for your reddness & dark spots. Plus, the amount of Vitamin C in the rose hip oil is minimal so you are not going to get the results you desire, no matter how long you use it.
Yonka lightening products are for brown pigmentation disorder such as age spots, freckles & pregnancy mask.
Phyto 54 & Cream 11 are for skin with redness associated with sensitivity & irratation.
I believe that you would probably bebefit from skin turnover/exfoliation to reveal the new skin underneath on an ongoing basis.Sound sliek thsi tca peel was just a one time benefit? When you say you have red/brown spots from old acne, how old are these spots? Weeks or years? It can take upto 6 weeks for skintunrover so these will fade. If they have not, then it must be permanant scarring.
Do you still breakout now? Your pigmentation, is this brown spots from sun damage?
As we talk more, it sounds like you may need Yonka Fruitelia or Yonka Alpha Complex.
This is what you should do:
1. Write back here and post more about your skin type and history for me to better understand.
2. I suggest going to the Yonka web site and reading over these few products I have mentioned. Make a list of the names, then go towww.yonka.com and read over the products.
Let me know.
Thanks, Andrea |

thanks so much.
i'll try to use your experince. since i guess i'm always trying things that doesn't help me .
first. i'm really disappointed of what you wrote about the oils.. cause my skin does need some treatment. and not just something that will "not do any harm for skin".
about my skin.
i am very prone to pigmentation.
i have old red acne marks .and by that i mean - even few years old ! it's not like when i was 20 that i had a pimple and used netorgena cream and the pimple healed living smooth skin.
now i have aread of red areas from pimples. some with sun exposure became a bit brown. (but most are red). i use spf 55 every day. use spf regualry for at least 3-4 years now.
my skin just look uneven. i'm not saying i have the worst skin ever. i almost don't have active pimples (if i do -it's a reaction to a new cream i try). it seems my skin can't heal itself anymore.
before my tca peel i used many renewing ingredients :
AHA cleanser + aha cream (prescriptions) , retin A , vit c. bioclear (bha + aha + azleaic acid). and hydroquinone.
of course not all in the same time.. but still... i tried the heavy guns. i think in some products i did more harm to my skin.
i always had hope in every new product. now i think it's hopless. the first few days after my TCA peel - i had hope again. i saw my skin as it shuold have been. almost flawless. it didn't last long. i guess the redness and pinkish skin, covered all the red marks that where still there .
anyway, i'll stop now i just think i need a good relaible routine. to be guided with. so i won't do foolish stuff to my skin.
check this link of my pictures. you can generalyl see of what uneveness of skin i'm talking about (although the pictures tends to smooth the surface)
http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php?act=module&module=gallery&cmd=user&user=9834&op=view_album&album=324
so i think i need something that improves the overall clarity of skin.
my skin also got dry (i was very oily) the last year (i think it's all the retin + vit c. treatments etc.)
so it doesn't have that youth glow i used to have. |

Hi some!
Have a look at this link, My friend who used to have bad acne and rosacea swears by this stuff. My daughter is using it as an acne treatment and it is definatly improving it.
When you were saying you had pigmentation, I thought you meant brown spot types. If it's red, then this may be of use. HTH Liz |
