Feel free to add your thoughts. I've gotten makeup as gifts from friends, and felt sort of weird about it. Well, some I felt weird, others (closer friends) I felt less weird. Thoughts?

Sidda, were these items that they knew you were interested in or that you requested? or items they loved and were anxious for you to try?

Unless someone knows my tastes very well, I wouldn't want cosmetics as a gift. I'm extremely particular and know what works best for me.
My sister and I trade products with each other like no tomorrow though ...we are both terrible product junkies.

I can tell you exactly.

One was a MAC Fluidline that she knew I wanted but couldn't afford. Great gift. Very appreciated.

One was a lip pencil -- the hue I always wore, from a business associate who had once asked me what color I wore. ????

One was a green-hued primer, from a friend who LOVED it -- because she has rosacea. I do not. So I had this green stuff. . . WTH? I understand the intent, but, again... WTH?

I've never gotten skin care. But a gift certificate to, for example, EDS seems pretty obvious. If anyone had half a brain. LOL

I agree with Fawnie - I rather buy a gift from me to me, so I get exactly what my heart desires.

If those closest to me who realize how often I refer to EDS actually focussed their "what to get her" antennae... an EDS GC would be a very good idea.
