Thanks to everyone who's posted on this thread. Any chance you'd mind recommending a BB cream for me please? I'm spot-prone and oily but I also have dryness so I don't want anything too drying. Ideally something for combination skin with a good level of coverage...any thoughts please? TIA!

BB creams are generally optimized for Oriental skin, which tends to be combination/oily. They are also limited in skin tones, so it might be a bit tricky to find matches for certain skin shades -- i.e. very difficult for blacks/those of African descent.

The Missha lines are quite common, with the Perfect Cover BB cream one of the more recommended and popular ones. Depending on your skin tone, 21 (most fair), 23, or 31 (darkest). I recommend Missha as its not as drying as many of the other BB creams, while still providing excellent coverage. I use a SPF moisturizer (and sometimes primer) underneath the BB cream layer.

If you're afraid of too drying, you can apply starter/primer before bb cream, I'm using Holika Holika Face2Change starter, and it's pretty good

Is there any organic or natural BB cream?
I don't want too much chemical.

even though it has organic or natural ingredients it still has unnatural ingredients to emulsify or suspend the ingredients.

You can look at Innisfree, Nature Republic, Beauty Credit, or Skinfood but they have lots of other chemicals with the natural.

I found that Elishacoy Always Triple was mostly more natural than other BBs I tested. It was not very fragranced (cannot smell anything though it's listed) and improved my skin though the coverage is light and its not as fair as other BBs, it was a bit dark but still okay. I really liked this one though I had to use more to cover.

Otherwise, I would suggest mineral foundation over BB if you are looking for lest amount of chemicals and irritants.

I tried skinfood sample but I don't like it. It is too thick and white. Look fake.

I have been using this Erborian BB cream http://www.blissworld.com/erborian-bb-crme-au-ginseng-spf-25/

It is great, it evens out my skin and does not leave a shiny, oily look to my skin. It makes my skin look very healthy and helps get rid of some slight redness I have. It's also great that it has a natural sunscreen, titanium dioxide, that gives SPF 25 protection. It comes in two skades, one for fair skin and one for darker skin.

I have tried Dr. Jarts but I found that it did not mix well with my fair skin. It was kind of gray and made my skin look kind of sallow. The Erborian brightens my skin.

Just in the last week on Australian tv, Garnier are advertising a BB cream - this is probably the first time most of the general population in Australia have even heard of a BB cream unless they are regular beauty forum readers. So when I'm next at the shops I'll have a look at this Garnier product Wink

Hi, you can buy BB cream from ebay too. Depending on brands, they can be slightly cheaper than foundations.

You might want to get a few samples to try out to see which one you prefer.
Also, test their colours out. But when you first wear BB cream, you need to give it 5-30 minutes for the color to match your skin, as it originally leaves a whitish cast on your face when you first apply it. But it goes away as it slowly warms up to your face.

Here's a couple of popular brands, Etude House, Missha, Skin79, The Face Shop, etc.

Here's a link to someone's review of a few brands:

BB cream or Blemish balm,is originally from Korea, most Korean used it, in the Philippines its a big hit!

I used it as my foundation and i put a little powder on it,as the result it gives you a glowing white skin. You can use it not only as make up base, but you can use it daily if you want, because BB cream can also whiten your face if daily use I'll try to my self and it leaves a glowing white and smooth skin.BB cream can be a sun block for your protection under the sun.

Here is the product that i can recommend:

Authentic BB Cream #2 Sheer Glowing Skin-Whitening Sunblock Cream, Anti-Aging, Make-up Base.

Mostly BB cream can be found in a Korean store. And maybe you can also found some amazing stuff there because Korean make up is great! ^^

Hello All,

I have tried Skin79 and Missha - Missha's Perfect Cover is really nice, but I tend to use it as a highlighter and for a touch up in the afternoon. (I've posted a review on my beauty blog, but am not sure whether I'm allowed to put a link here)

(Dior has a BB too now, 'Dior Hydra Life BB Cream' - am curious, but read that it contains oxybenzone)

Actually it was first made by a German doctor:

I don't know if this helps, but to me it seems that a trend started and everyone in the cosmetic industry has been jumping on the bandwagon....good or bad.-------

Learn why this Korean beauty product is all the rage in Asia!

BB Cream or Blemish Balm Cream is among Asia's hottest beauty products right now. Where did it come from and how did it become so popular?

The formula is reported to have come from Germany where dermatologists use it for healing laser skin surgery because of its characteristic soothing and skin-regenerating properties. Famous South Korean actresses then began using it for beauty purposes and since Asian dramas and hallyu is huge, a craze was born. The trend that started in Korea first spread to Japan then to South East Asia and has now quickly made its way to Europe and the USA.

BB cream is a little like tinted moisturizer, most of them have light coverage, so the make-up effect is very nature.

I don't think there is large difference between BB or CC cream, tinted moisturizer, some primers, or even some light coverage foundations, they all can give you a better look, and the ingredients can be similar. (some BB creams have as good coverage as foundations)

Keep in mind what kind of effect you want, and choose a right color.

And make sure it make no damage to your skin.
