hello everyone
i have read that this tria is working for people on this forum and im a bit confused.
i have been using the tria under arms and top lip and neither with any joy but before using tria i daily kept on top of my top lip hair and still do - i would just run a razor lightly over the area i was paranoid not to but i am definitely noticing no difference.
i am now wondering if for it to work do you need to let the hair grow and not using the razor daily? see i use to do underarms daily too but i haven't for a little while yet still i have not notice a difference in about 6 to 7 treatments.
am i doing something wrong? can you help? |
I think that you are doing TOO MUCH! You are not letting the hairs grow in it's cycle and therefore you are just kind off shooting with no target. Hair has a growth cycle and the reason for so many treatments is that you want to try to get the hairs when they are in their growth cycle. It is an amazing thing how it stops hair growth, you just need to use it right. Timing is 90% of it. |

Sweetiebee, in my opinion you are not doing anything wrong. If you shaved your upper lip every day, that should not make the TRIA less efective, because the hair follicles are still in there and that is exactly what the laser targets.
I am thinking that maybe the hairs on your upper lip are too fine and maybe not dark enough for the laser to work. Having had a lot of laser hair removal myself, I can definately say that in my case the finer hairs on my upper lip or face have not responded to the treatment (IPL or laser).
Anyway, I have been using my TRIA for about two months now. I was getting really excited because my underarms were getting to a point where they were about 80% haif free. However I have noticed some fine hairs growing in the area, but they seem to be responding to the latest treatment, so I will see what happens.
It is a lenghty process, but at least I have chosen to do it over the colder season, so hopefully by next spring I will be pretty much hair free. |

At the current time, there does not seem to be a more economical version of Tria. |

I will be going to my first laser hair removal session later this week. I don't have enough money to buy my own home remedy kit. |

I was thinking.. Isn't there's a limit for everyone, for how much hair you will remove, and then you are satisfied.
And when the unwanted hair are all gone - they are all gone for good..?
Wouldn't there be a number of TRIAs out there in the closets not used anymore, and they are expensive, these gadgets. A secondhand market would be nice...
How many "laser shoots" do the machine do, before its finito?
I would buy one in secondhand, for sure. |

Do anyone know if this has the option of a universal adaptor as I live in Australia and am very interested in this.
TIA:) |

The TRIA manufacturers state that the machine lasts for about 300 charges, each charge giving around 300 shots.
There is no way of knowing how many times the machine has been charged, therefore if anyone buys a second hand one they should be careful, it may be nearing the end so no point spending money on it.
I have kept a record on how many times I have charged mine so far, just so i know where I am with it.
As for how much hair does anyone want to remove and where is the limit... that's up to them.
Pal, I think if you email TRIA and ask them about the adaptor, that the best way of finding out. |

Tria has just lowered the price by $200. Go to their website for more info.
Wonder if they are getting ready to put out a new model? |

Has anyone tried this one:
http://www.silkn.com
It is FDA approved and appears to be cheaper than the Tria |

I believe this is one the models I have been reading about on another forum I visit
www.vogue.com.au in beauty section, this is an Australian forum. From what the girls say there its pretty good and all but one lady was happy with it, I was considering this but thought the TRIA sounded a bit better, if I cant get a univeral model I will probably go for this one, Im positive its the same one.
Although I would love to hear any reviews to |

Hmm the Tria and the Silkin are about the same price now, and the Tria (at their site) is also having easy pays. This is very tempting. |

Hello!
Just wondering if anyone has got any more good results with their Tria?
I have to say that after 6 treatments on my lower legs, my hair seems to be growing back. I had got to a point where I had very large hair-free areas on my legs an also underarms, but now it is definately growing back. Maybe not as thick as before... but still, it's there.
They say that 10-12 treatments are needed, I dont know if I should carry on or not. |

I discovered TRIA a couple months ago. Even at the new discounted price, it's still expensive for a poor student like myself. But with taxes, I figured I would get one, because it sounds too good to be true. I finally bucked up the courage yesterday, and placed an order. I'm really reluctant, but super excited to use it. I'm not an extremely hairy person, but I have to admit, I HATE pubic hair. It's disgusting, and I need to get rid of it. I figure if the TRIA can at least grant me the wish of getting rid of that, and my pit hair, I will be happy with shaving my legs for the rest of my life.
I enjoy reading everyone's posts on how TRIA has improved their hair problems, and look forward to updating all of you on my hair loss!(it sounded too funny to leave out.) |

I wish you guys have before and after pictures. :/
So, would you say it was a waste?
... I just visited TRIA Beauty website and there are before/after pictures... I wonder if the result will be as great as advertised...
You'll have to wait at least 8 months to see the optimal result and then you have to deal with the dark area. (varies by person though) |

Forgot to say.. i googled numbing cream b/c of Tria. So far i bought two LMX 4% cream and you do the math. it's another hundred dollar. I am almost done w/ my 1st one. and i really put a big chunk on my bikini and under arm area.
anyways...when i was reading about numbing cream i read that maybe woman should use Tria in between our PMS. We are more sensitive to pain before and after PMS. I do not know if this makes any sense but sounds like a good strategy right? I have not been able to follow though. I do Tria whenever i feel like it. I also read that some people takea pain killer before Tria. This sounds legit to me but i've never tried it. I do not believe in pain killers so i dont know much about pain killers at all. Maybe some of you can give me a few tips. Hope my input helps |
When I had my underarms professionally treated, the technician used an ice pack to numb the area - maybe you can try that? |

Please check out this website for hair removal: http://www.hairtell.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/forums/36/1/Laser_hair_removal.html
It is most informative and the individuals there are very knowledgeable about laser technology. There is great doubt that these hand-held devices will come close to being effective as the professional machines. Some individuals who have bought and tried these devices are not reporting very good results. Even those who were treated with expensive professional machines are not always seeing results. |

I have been using TRIA every 2 weeks for 3 months and now I am a month after the last treatment. I see results only in the bikini area: less hair and it grows slower. I see no results on the legs or armpits. However, I am going to keep using it for at least 8 months. |

Hey, gang. I just bought my TRIA. Seems we're all agreed that the unit has sufficient charges to cover a whole lotta body hair.
A few things:
I've had the professional laser treatments - until the salon went belly up and refused to refund my money (don't worry, my credit card company gave it back to me).
I DOES take many treatments to see the results. Just the nature of the beast. I had my treatments done a couple of years ago and while I didn't get enough for the hair to be gone, there are patches that grow VERY slowly.
You have to follow the instructions - they are intended for you to hit on the growth cycles of your hair...and there are about three different cycles. So one set of hair may be gone, but another round is growing and another round is getting ready to grow. (see next post) |
