I picked up a bottle of 40 Carrots Creme Cleanser at TJ Maxx just to see what it was like. For 5.99, why not. Anyway, turns out I love it. But not sure if the hype on the bottle is all it says it is.
The bottle claims it Retinol rich, purifies skin and stimulates cellular vitality. Also claims Paraben free.
It's a nice light cleanser, very different from anything I've ever used, which isn't saying much, I've used Olay products for eons.
Has anyone ever used this line? |

Inteeerreesssting. A retinol product that stays on your face for only a few minutes before you rinse it off. I don't think Paula Beguon would be down with this. People usually put their retinol on at night so it has time to penetrate and do something. Maybe I'm wrong but what is the point of putting retinol in something that has so little time on your face. |

callalily, I thought the same exact thing!
Wish I knew more...
I like the texture of it, the smell is nice, but I'm not a great judge of products, not enough experience with really nice, quality stuff. |

I agree, and on top of it, there's this product freeze facial cleanser that is the other way around you rinse off the cleanser but the SPF 15 stays on your skin. How's that? |

I say, show me!! ha ha. That is certainly questionable. Thanks, but I prefer to apply my own SPF. |

Well Bethann. If it was that scientifically advanced and capable of what they say their marketing department must be really really inept. Wash off sunscreen would be amazing!
I'd love to give you some advice with cleansers if I may. What kind of skin do you have? I used Merle Norman Luxiva cleanser (normal to dry), I liked it quite a bit. Feels nice and creamy and while it is perfumed (it smells like gentle watermelon to my nose) it is pretty gentle. I recently switched to Dior cleansing gel. In the pink container. I'm not sure what I think of it yet.
I think it is worth it to splurge on cleanser. I would really like to try MD Forte III cleanser. It has glycolic acid and is rated very very highly at Makeupalley.com If you don't go there, you should check it out. Tons of reviews.
Good luck! |

Thanks for the heads up on the MD Forte. I'll check that out.
My skin is combo, but becoming sensitive. I'm 54, having all the normal aging issues. I use a clarisonic about 3 times a week, trying some different ready made products at SA's. Not real sure about those. Also using the LightStim - I think it's leaving some raised bumps on my skin, so I've stopped using it for a while. This is all so over whelming - trying to find a routine and products that produce some results! |

Where is the Retinal in the list of ingredients? IN other words how "retinal rich" is it? May be a nice gimmick for the unsuspecting customer.
I say if you like the feel and quality of it as a cleanser - hooray and double hooray as you got it at a good price.
Does it contain sulfates (sodium laurel sulfate or the ilk?) and does it say the ph level? These can be two deal breakers. |

Sister sweets is right, if retinol is at the top of the list then that is great, but if at the bottom then this is a gimmick. |

Bethann, you should try Merle Norman Luxiva! It's the nicest cleanser I've tried. It's around $24 but you need to grab it from a Merle Norman store. I'd love to give you any help I can... Do you have a budget? |

I just purchased this today at Marshall's for 5.99. It says it is a Micro-active Retinol cleanser purifier skin and stimulates cellular vitality. Under ingredients for which I am not going to type all, it says Betanol Age-Radiance Complex: Beta-Carotene and Retinol (Vitamin A, plus B-5, E and C. Sounds good to me. |
