Hello Everyone!

I was wondering what everyone's daily routine is and what they use. I had always washed with clearasil day and night and a daily moisturizer.

I'm wanting to change my regime because now that I'm getting older, I need to take care of my skin type. Any suggestions are welcomed. Just as fyi, I am asian and have combination skin, I think.

I have just bought a microderm face cloth (from Ebay). Each day I use a face wash with the cloth (I use origins face wash). I follow this up with a vitamin c serum in the morning and at night I use a serum and then J-Beckett alphaderma, followed by eye cream.

Hmm maybe you could give us more to work with. I'm guessing you would like anti-aging benefits. I would suggest a nice gentle cleanser. You could definatly splurge on a great moisturizer, eye cream and retinol product. From what I've read on the board Revive has some great moisturizers, Valmont is good for masques and Cellcosmet has nice eyecreams. You could try Green Cream or a prescription retinoid (ask your doc and surf around). Don;t forget sunscreen! Razz

I also Asian people. So I suggest: the use of external than taste, more should undertake interior. Such as taking bird's nest, are very effective

Oh you mean supplements. That's very interesting. When you say birds nest what exactly do you mean? What would be in the birds nest that would benefit skin. I'm very open to traditional and homeopathic medicines, I'm just curious as to what this is.

Oh gosh, this is gonna be a shock to you! Laughing
Birds nest is a Chinese delicacy, the really fine ones cost more than $1000 USD/pound! Birds nest is not really the branches and leaves little birdies use to make a nest, but the food, stomach acid and saliva the birds regurgitate from their little beaks that is used as "mortar" to "glue" the sticks and leaves into a nest. Shock Shock When you buy this from a Chinese apothecary, one must spend HOURS picking out the stray leaves and feathers before you can start cooking it into a dessert soup. YUMMY! Shock Anyways, I did a quick google search, and in terms of "western" nutritional value, it looks like most people think it's just protein and not much more. I also don't know enough to tell you about the TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) explanation for why this is good for the skin, but I think it really works-- Living in this part of the world (Malaysia), you can DEFINITELY see a difference in the quality of skin between the wealthy old ladies who drink this stuff regularly, and the wealthy younger ladies who are too modern to believe in this kind of "superstition". It is generally believed that consuming birds nest helps with elevating collagen production. Hope I didn't give you nightmares! Laughing

Luckylady- I believe the consensus here is that retinol and vitamin C are the most established ingredients for antiaging (and sunscreen!!). It sounds like you have a pretty simple routine going on, so perhaps a vitamin C serum in the mornings followed with a sunscreen, and then a moisturizer with retinol for use at night. HTH!
