Hello everybody,

I am 30something newcomer to this website, but I am thrilled to see your obsession for cosmetic products, because this gives me hope that I could finally get some really helpful advice. I have been searching and trying different products for my oily skin with large pores, uneven skin tone for years and I still have not found the right ones that would work together well. Could you please help me and give me some advice on what's working for you, folks with the same type of skin? Thanks a million. I can't wait to read your replies.

What are your goals for the products? Do you want something for the oily skin, something for the pigmentation, etc?

Well, Janulik, I was a pretty clueless oily girl until the age of 37, when I first found this wonderful forum!

After I experimented with some of the things I learnt about here (OCM, base + essential oils, CP's, Retin-A, dry-brushing and recently facial massage and facial exercises), my skin was better than ever before.

So, just be patient enough to read through the various threads, be adventurous enough to try things that a few people said proved beneficial to their skin (that's what I did - experimented), and ask questions. People in this forum are very helpful and willing to share their knowledge.

Good luck with your quest for great skin. It can be done!

Can't help you with a moisturizer, but for your pigmentation you could check out Vivite Vibrance, Obagi Nu Derm, 302. Do a search here on EDS. There are tons of threads on pigmentation issues. You can also just try Retin A at night, a topical C serum in the morning, and a high quality sunscreen. That alone may help your pigmentation!

For your pigmentation definately try a Vitamin C product. Look for one with l-ascorbic acid in the ingredients. Skinceuticals C E Ferulic is excellent. Vitamin C should always be applied in the morning, before anything else.

Try doing a search on the forum for IS Clinical I think those products are good for oily skin. You might like their hydra-cool serum as a moisturizer. Call EDS and see if they have some samples they can send you, or there are always samples for sale on ebay.

You may want to look into purchasing the clarisonic sometime in the future. It does cost a lot, but is well worth the investment as you can read about it on here. This will really help clean your skin and preven further clogging of the pores.

as for oily skin - check if your cleanser is not over-stripping, choosing a mild cleanser can help a lot, I was battling my oily skin until I learnt it - thanks EDS
and your moisturizer should be very light (better a serum), I do not use a moisturizer in summer at all, just in winter.

I've got oily skin plus pigmentation issues also. I've been using the NIA24 sunscreen with no additional moisturizer. MMU applies well on it and my skin stays matte all day. It is also helping my pigmentation issues. I posted before and after pics in the NIA24 thread.

I have also oily skin.

If only for controlling the oilness, I would extremely recommend Dr. Hauschka cleansing cream, clarifying toner and normalizing oil for controlling the oilness.

But you may also need some anti-oxidants to controll age. Maybe you could try Retinol or glyconic acid products.
MD Forte, DDF, IS clinical all offer some uesful
products.
