I think it is nearly impossible to get rid of lines if they have already existed. |

I think it depends on whats caused them. For example, if your constantly making an expression where those lines are reinforced, then you need to look at stopping that habbit. Its not uncommon that we often find our faces make certain poses, when we talk and in our thinking, and sometimes these can help lines remain around (think of people who are constantly raising their brows for example). Thats not to say your stuck with them forever, you have to train yourself to not make that habbit as often, but massage should certainly improve them to some degree, lessening their depth etc.

I think these lines are formed from laughing too much and opening mouth too wide. Also my upper jaw seems to stick out a bit so the two things together make these lines more prominent, but skin sagging along the cheeks helps it along, too. aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhh Problem with aging! |

I am just starting to see little lines around my mouth--almost overnight! So I'm going to keep an eye on this thread! Although I would imagine that too vigorous a massage might have the opposite effect. |

LOL too vigorous a massage - well you might be pleasantly surprised. I know I used to tell people to go as aggressively as they could with the massage, and it did bring amazing results, but some people are a little scared of doing it that aggressively and so I figure any is better than none at all.

Sean, I keep rolling the skin along my nose/mouth lines between thumb and fingers until the area is quite red. Is that aggressive enough? |

You need to be the judge of how much aggression your body can take, (or perhaps your face can take), but when I used to teach aggressive massage, and I would demo it, I would be near the point of yelling "Ouch" to give you an example. The redness is a good sign, its the increased circulation which causes the skin to go red.
The other thing is not to focus solely on the nose/mouth lines, but also tackle the cheeks, as sometimes the cheeks will sag and cause the fold, so you want to really get to the whole nose/mouth line area and that surrounding it just to be safe. This is why I think facial exercises and massage are really good tools to use for antiaging, because in essence they help the body to rejuvenate and regenerate the tissue.

Ahhh good point Sean. I will increase massage to all over the face. I have been massaging along the top cheek bones to increase thickness of skin there since I noticed my eyes were becoming hollow.
I think I have some good news to report. I am not sure if this is temporary, but today and yesterday, I noticed my nose/mouth lines are starting to soften up.
I have increased my ageless exercises to twice a week last week, but I don't know if the results will be this immediate.
I also use the Revitalift Day Cream which I like how it makes my skin look immediately, but I don't know if it's also really lifting my skin, too, or not.
So I'm contributing my massages along these lines for the softening up of my lines. The skin right above the lines that sometimes looks like it hangs over the lines right by my nostrils seems to flatten itself out, so nothing is hanging over today. I really hope this continues, and I will continue to massage these lines. I do it when I drive since I have too much free time when the car is waiting for the light to turn green. |

This is encouraging. This morning in bright sunlight in my car I checked my nose/mouth lines in the mirror, and found that the lines from the middle to the corners of mouth have disappeared, so there're only slight lines from bottom of nostrils to halfway, and the skin above the lines has also flattened out. I'm thrilled! So even though the lines are getting better, I continue to pinch and massage the lines more because I'm afraid they'd return. |
