Okay ever since I took someone's stupid recommendation to strip my too dark colour from my hair with dish soap and T-Gel my poor scalp has been flaking, itching and driving me nuts, I've tried Tea Tree Oil Shampoo for relief and to solve the provlem but that does not work. I have no idea what kind of oils (jojoba, avocado, etc.?) to use and what kind of essential oils to use, I know Tea Tree isn't helping me. Does anyone knowledgeable in this area have a recipe I could whip up for myself? I've never had any problem with my scalp until this, it's always been healthy, problem free and thi condition just wants to make me jump off the bridge or scratch my scalp till its raw and scratched and I don't think either option is good, lol!!

I've heard Emu oil is good but I don't want to try anything until I get some recommendations from people who REALLY know their stuff. Thanks!

I am no expert, but coconut oil really helped my scalp when it was itchy and scabbed from scratching so much.

I had a similar reaction recently (contact dermatitis) to some skincare I was given as a gift (I really should know better!).

I can highly recommend Emu oil - I would apply it to your scalp and leave for at least half an hour then shampoo out with a mild shampoo. (You could leave it overnight too). It is the only thing that calms and heals my skin without causing further irritation and calms down the flakies. (I tend to get exczema anyway which emu oil is also fantasti for).

HTH's!

I read that crushing up a couple of aspirins and adding it to a bottle of shampoo, works great for flaking. It has to do with acetecylic acid...or however you spell it!!
