Hi girls and boys,
Hope You all had a great Easter.
I have some questions about dry skin brushing, vs. wet skin peeling of the body.
What is the difference?
Are one more effective than the other, or more gentile?
I've never tried dry skin brushing. I have a very thin skin and a very dry skin. I thought a wet peeling would work the best for me, until i read some comments about how great dry skin brushing are for cellulite. |

there are loads of posts on this if you search, but to save you time, yes! It's brilliant, cheap, takes but a few minutes, and yes, your skin will improve.
always to the heart, brush to the heart! |

I started dry brushing about 6 weeks ago and am starting to see results. For me the hard part was working into my routine so I didn't forget to do it. |

Do you do it once a day? Before you take a shower?
The entire body?
Press hard, or gentile?
Do you use a glow, brush or..?
Yes, I should search for the existing treads, too many questions.. |

Shower/bath products with small grains in it, don't know if there's an specific "name" for them...just peeling perhaps, for wet skin?
I wanted to be extra clear in my questioning, so I wanted to separate the two methods extra much, in my very bad explanation, obviously... |

Dry brushing does help exfoliate dead skin, but I think the benefits are more to do with improving circulation. That said, I suppose if you use a mitt or loofa or scrub and id it all towards the heart, the results would be the same.
I use a scrubbing mitt or a sugar scrub for exfoliation in the shower and once a month I use a 30% lactic acid solution on my body after using a manual scrub. I leave it on over night and then wash off the next day. |

That's interesting, never heard of that acid. Works well on sensitive skin as well?
Doesn't make the skin more sun sensitive?
What are the effects you had with the product, and were do you buy it? |

To expand on what guapagirl said, dry brushing, when done properly, stimulates the lymph system. The lymph system helps to remove toxins from the body, and removing toxins can reduce cellulite. So, it's much more than just exfoliation. Although I'm overweight, I don't really have a cellulite problem. I like the way dry brushing feels, and I like the way I feel when I do it regularly!
I always dry brush in the am, before my shower...sometimes I get rushed and forget, though. |

I bought a great dry brush at the body shop for less than $15 (I think!). It seems to work well! If only I remembered to use it more often! |

i love dry skin brushing. it really makes my skin feel so soft and smooth. the brush is harsh at first, but your body gets used to it fast. |
