Thanks to everyone for all the help and advice. I did order this serum and used it for the first time this morning. Within 10 minutes my face was tingling and then it went bright red. The redness is dissipating but the reaction was pretty immediate and noticeable.
Is this completely normal or do I have very sensitive skin?
I got a sample of the Valmont soothing cream so have put that on. 
I have to say-the long list of ingredients in it(Valmont) seem to be no different than what you see in drugstore stuff. Why so pricey? Is it really better than DS brands? |

When I first started using Vitamin C serum, I also noticed a warming-tingling reaction. It goes away once my skin got used to it. You might try every other day for the first week or two. In my experience, C serums are definitely worth sticking with.
Incidentally, I had kind of forgotten that tingling, warmish sensation from C serum (since I have used it for years now) until I started using the Clarisonic. Then it came right back and it was several days before I didn't get that reaction from my C serum. So that suggests that if you have recently exfoliated, you might expect more of a reaction. |

| When I started to use C serum, my face felt drier but did not turn red. Also C serum usually has a pH of 3.5 or less but I'm not sure if that is one factor to cause reaction. |

The redness has subsided though I still feel a slight tingling.
I am definitely sticking with it.
Would this indicate that I might have a severe reaction to Retinol or Retin products?
Oh and my nose went redest of all-I looked like Rudolph for a few minutes! But I am of Irish descent and my nose goes red easily.
and no I am not a big drinker! |

| I would be inclined to let your skin get used to the C serum for a couple of weeks, then introduce your retinol. That way your skin can gradually adjust to the actives. For the same reason, I would take it easy with exfoliation while you are phasing in your active skincare. I made the mistake once of over-exfoliating with a peel and OUCH!!! did my C serum and retinoid hurt! |

I am waiting on retinol as I do want to phase things in gradually.
I am not sure if it is my imagination or wishful thinking but I do think my skin has an extra glow already!  |

| Would you recommend this C serum or does someone else use something they feel is better? I am still looking for one and would love to hear what everyone else uses. |
