The first thing on the list to do is to determine your skin type. Is it dry, oily, combination, sensitive, etc.? Do you have sun damage, acne, scars, dark circles around eyes, wrinkles, etc.? |

Also, you may want to consider the reason WHY you want to start using makeup now. Is there a certain concern you want to address? |

It is also important to know which tone suits you most. Makeup is never easy but you can start with simple foundation first and i always find eye makeup a skill.. it might take more time to perfect it. Good Luck! |

But with makeup, you always have to make sure to get a good makeup remover so that it can properly remove ur makeup and not clogs ur pores.. |

FatLady, I would suggest you PLAY- have fun.. What do you like? Are you trying to cover up a particular problem?
My personal opinion is: Less is more. Natural, sheer, subdued is oh so attractive in my eyes.. |

Maybe you could have a skin analysis done and have your colours professionally done also. At least that would give you a base to start off with.
Maybe even pay to have a professional makeup job done and watch what they do and the colours they use. |

Does your skin have a lot of blemishes? If so, foundation is a great thing to have to cover up the blemishes. For me, I don't wear makeup often, but what I do have is mainly the eyeliner and eyeshadow, and mascara. I suspect being Indian, you have gorgeous eyes, so you probably want to emphasize your eyes, but be careful not to overdo it, or they can look scary, too. Subtle is key. I think you should try to go to a makeup counter and ask the girls there to show you. They'll be happy to show you and probably will try to sell stuff. |
