i am getting married in 4 months and really want to clear some red acne marks i have and general uneven skintone, can anyone help?
i have read about and tried so many things i dont know what is most effective and gives fastest results
i am currently using 302 skincare plus tamanu oil
i tried retin a but it made me feel unwell so i stopped it. i also tried mama lotion but my skin didnt really seem to improve with it
so i am looking at the best at home products/treatments plus whether laser/peels would also help
does anyone have any experience on what the most effective treatments are?
i am looking at:
bio oil
apple cider vinegar
prolegene
acids like glycolic/lactic/salycic
peels
chroma clear facials
laser
dermaroller
there are too many options and i dont know what works best i am getting too confused!
please can someone give me some advice on what worked best for them thanks! |

The NaturDerm stuff sounds excellent! If they are just red marks they aren't scars, so it's just a little hyperpigmentation and those go away with time. Four months is a while so I think you would even see improvement if you weren't treating them. I think you'll be fine!! Congradulations on getting married!! Remember you can wear makeup on your wedding day too! |

With regular exfoliation your red marks will fade faster. I would recommend some enzyme type exfoliants like Jan Marini's papaya mask. I agree with Callalily that 4 months is a generous period for any post-acne marks to fade on its own. Two most important things for you right now are:
1. Have your acne under control and make sure you are not getting any new ones. Use BHA 2% regularly will keep your skin clear.
2. Don't go overboard with anything in the next 4 months. You don't want to add any unnecessary stress to deal with any surprises.
Good Luck. |

Getting dermabrasion face wash will help tremendously if you use it 2 or 3 times a week. I use Loreal Paris Advanced Revitalift. |

These things have made the most improvement in my skin:
Natura Bisse Glyco-Peel - pricey, but, very good.
Neutrogena Acne Fade Gel - really awesome, it works.
MyChelle Pumpkin Peel - this helped tremendously with pitted scars, but, it took a week after using it for my face to stop peeling.
SkinBio Retinol with Squalane and Copper Peptide Serum - these soothe and repair skin after all the acids. |

obagi-c system serum made my acne scar less noticeable, not totally got rid of them after finishing one bottle though. This is the only product i finished, because i could see difference after a few applications. I am going to try obagi nu-derm, everybody said it worked very well, but it will peel your skin a lot at the beginning. |

Hi Ellie. I'm getting married soon too and just wanted to wish you well. I'm doing Obagi Nu Derm and am on Day 23. I'm very happy with it and have read it works well on scars. I wish you much joy in your upcoming nuptials! |

Hi Ellie
A series of microdermabrasion treatments would work wonders. If you're seeing a derm, ask for a laser peel, as I've heard those are more effective than microdermabrasion- I'm not entirely sure about that though since I've never tried.
If you're looking for at home products, Obagi Nu Derm is targeted specifically towards hyperpigmentation - scars, uneven skin tone, dark spots. But you have to use it with tretinoid cream (you can start off with a low strength like 0.025 and work your way up to 0.05). If you want to give Obagi a shot, and don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on the entire line, just buy the Clear and the Blender, as they contain 4% hydroquinone which is the main ingredient that fades scars.
I've also heard that La Roche Posay has a 21 day treatment kit with 2% LHA (supposedly more effective that salicylic acid, lactic acid, or benzoyl peroxide) that's targeted to fade scars. I haven't tried this, though, so I can't say much. |
