I had this problem with Bare Minerals. It was the bismuth that was making me break out. As for the oil, I have very oily skin, but I use a blotting papers, I don't use to much MMU. I used to put primer and a moisterizer underneath, but my skin just does not need it. I use Alima now and it works great on my skin.

All mineral makeup is not the same. Just as all liquid foundations are not the same. Really. Some "mineral makeup" has only arrowroot powder in it (not mineral, from a plant, no coverage, and cheap), while others have only titanium dioxide (great coverage, clogging, and uber-drying). Tell us more about your skin, THE BRAND(s) you have tried, and we can assist you.

I have used mineral makeup (off and on) for 20 years --- loooong before it was trendy. Tell us more, and we'll be able to help you better.

I agree that not all MMU's are created equal. Even though the ingredients list maybe similar the quality of ingredients can vary and that make a big difference.
Which brand have you tried?

I've also heard some people are allergic to BE although I am fine with it. Check the ingredients.
