I am definitely come to the conclusion that less is better for my skin. I can feel my rosacea which up until now has been very mild getting worse. It could be hormones or it could be as a result of the new products I am trying. (Vit C, retinol).

Is there one skin care line that is gentle soothing and effective for sensitive skin? I would like to find a simple maybe 3 step program that calms things down.

I love playing around with new products these days but I don't think my skin agrees with me.

Thanks again.

Vitamin C can aggravate redness. I like NIA 24 for my mild rosacea. Also Topix Replenix serum- you can find it online- is commonly recommended as a great soothing anti inflammatory which helps contract blood vessels beacuse of its high caffeine content.

I haven't tried it myself yet, but the 302 line or the calmskin line advocate a "less is more" approach.

it depends on the formulation of vit.C serum.
I tried Skinceuticals CE Ferulic and Phloretin, and they did make my mild rosacea worse, my skin was very irritated. But Skinmedica C complex which I`m using now - no, it leaves my face very calm and matte, but it contains silicones, some people can break out from them.

Aviva. That is good to know. I also have rosacea, mild, and find it best to not use products which are too harsh. Do you know why the Skinmedica C works better?

I don`t know for sure, but can assume that may be it`s because of their "Slow-released formulation delivering vit.C throughout the day" and presence of silicones.
I do know that with Skinceuticals Phloretin the second or third ingredient is alcohol, and that was irritating. You might want to avoid alcohol-containing products if you have rosacea.

what vit.C and retinol products are you trying?

you might try Avene retinaldehyde line, Eluage cream and serum are VERY gentle while containing decent amount of retinaldehyde plus hyaluronic acid.

Aiva. thanks for your reply. I stopped using Dr H because I was getting too broken out and felt I was allergic to some of the ingredients not just "purging". It has alcohol in all its products it seems and my skin was becoming dry on the surface. I started using Gernetic and am finding it very gentle. I overdid the Immuno and Octo and it was too strong but the cleanser and the synchro are great and with the facialist I will reintroduce the other products one at a time to see if any are too irritating. I also think I have a tendency too use too much product and too many and to rub too hard and rosacea needs gentle treatment. anyway. It is great to have less redness.

Check out the finacea thread on the forum. I started using it and it did wonders for my skin and really has brought the rosacea under control.
Also, IS Clinical Proheal serum is great for Rosacea and the Hydracool. I have used them for years without any problems.
I have never had an issue using these.
I also found that Purpose, by Johnson and Johnson and L'Occtane cleansing foam works great without aggravating any redness for cleaning.

I have been using Cellular Skin C plus Firming Serum and Pure Skin Formulations Retinol Night Repair.
I have the Avene retinaldehyde product but felt it was too gentle.....

You're right, less is definitely more when it comes to skin care, especially sensitive skin. I really love Dr Hauschka for my sensitive skin. You might want to start off with the rythmic night conditioner for sensitive skin (a full 28 days cycle) which should help balance things out, along with the cleansing milk and rose day cream for daily care. Another great line I highly recommend is the Primavera line. It's also made with organic and biodynamic ingredients and the products smell divine. Lavera is supposed to be good for sensitive skin but I haven't tried that myself.

As another treatment, you should give yourself some facial massages with organic rosehip oil. This works wonders for irritated skin conditions and the massaging will help with blood circulation. Good luck!

I tried Primavera line for my sensitive skin and it made my skin worse. I am allergic to some plants, but nothing that could make my skin reactive were in this line and still my skin was red and irritated after Primavera.
Primavera has different base oils that I use: jojoba, camelia, rosehip etc. I find that less ingredients are better for my skin and I try to use more oils to calm it down.
I love Lavera line, it is very soothing and smells nice.
