Bobbi Brown No Smudge mascara is great! No smudges, clumps or flakes. The short wand makes it easy to control and put on and it's waterproof.

Maybelline Full & Soft. I wipe the brush off before applying it and use a clean spoolie in between coats.

Cover Girl Lash Blast (in the orange tube). Goes on nice, no clumping or flaking and super cheap. Got a two pack for the price of one at Target. Very Happy

Hey, that's a great tip of wiping the brush off. I never thought about it!
Sometimes, I do feel like a tarantula when my lashes all clamp together. I will definitely do this. Thx

I have to second this. I'm a mascara snob and despise the clumped spider leg-looking lashes I tend to end up with. I recently decided to give the Lash Blast a try (I've stuck with the same Max Factor for many years b/c I didn't want to waste the $ on something I hated--I used the tissue trick with my Max Factor) and I was so incredibly pleasantly miraculously surprised. It is a wonderful mascara! It lengthens, separates, and basically does everything all mascaras claim to do but never deliver. A bonus is that I can use this and the hold lasts forever.

I would also agree. Am not using the Full and Soft at the moment, but I did for some years and it's a great mascara at a good price. The Maybelline Lash Discovery is also nice, if you like a long thin brush - good for getting into the corners.

I discovered Sephora brand mascara. It has an intimidating looking applicator though. The brush is ridgid- not a "hair like" brush at all- more like a comb. But clumps are unheard of

I like sheseido. I am really not good at applying mascara, but this one is easy to use. Another good one my friend recommended me to use is HR.

I would highly recommend Dr Hauschka mascara. I've been using it for years and absolutely love it. One coat gives you a nice natural look or apply 2 or more for a thicker, fuller look. Never clumps or flakes and has excellent ingredients that are good for your lashes, and best of all, it does not irritate sensitive eyes like mine.

Try Dior iconic.

It is a bit pricey but you get your money's worth.

I echo wildflower's recommendation. Dr. Hauschka's mascara doesn't clump at all... OTOH, it doesn't offer a great deal of volume either. I tried their new volumizing formula in Aubergine and Teal... They do add more volume than their standard formula, great ingredients for sensitive skin types, but.... it dried out quickly in the tube, so I only got about 2 months use out of it. When I pay over $25 USD I want something that'll last a little longer.

I went to the "dark side" and strayed from a natural mascara when I found Guerlain mascara at my nearby TJMaxx. I don't know exactly which one it is, but it comes in a gold container --- only paid $10 USD for it so I bought 2.

One tube lasted me for 6 months without drying out.... It's not necessarily waterproof, but it is sweat proof.. Holds up very well in extreme heat and doesn't run. Basically, it coats each eyelash when you apply it. And it doesn't clump. Washes off very easily with jojoba oil.

I second the Lash Blast (orange tube). I have tried lots, because I look for volume too. My sister gave me hers and I really like it!

I also recommend Maybelline Full N Soft and Cover Girl Lash Blast and Lash Exact. I always go back to one of these. They don't clump or smudge for me.

I would agree that this is the best mascara i ever used. Easy to apply & doesn't clump at all.

I enjoy trying new mascaras, including popular brands like Maybelline, Lancome, Anna Sui & Loreal, and had never bought the same again, till i tried Majolica Majorca's. Have been sticking to this brand since then.

When used with it's mascara base (white in color), the effect is even much much better.

I highly recommend anyone who's going Japan to stock up on this cos it's pretty cheap there.

athena123, I know how you feel about straying from the 'right path' ... Mascara is the only product which doesn't work for me in the all-natural range. Smudges, gives no volume. I'm a devoted fan of Max Factor Lash Lift though the pachaging is tacky and it does clump a little when layered, but then, one coat is normally enough whith this anyway.

A good alternative to mascara and obviously clump-free is tinting them!

The 1000 hours lash tint tints them, it's easy to use and it lasts for a long time.

Also... tweezerman has this little eyelash comb that you can use after applying mascara... if by any chance anything clumps, it will separate it.

Hi minimunny --- I was forced to look for a different mascara after I moved to a warmer place last year. One day I was trolling around town when I realized my makeup and mascara was literally POURING off my face in the extreme heat.... Sad Was wearing mineral makeup, MAC eyeshadow and Dr. Hauschka mascara. The only thing that was holding up was my eyeshadow, so the search began for a foundation and mascara that would hold up in these conditions.

Fortunately, the Guerlain mascara holds up... even better, one coat is enough to produce some volume. When temps turn cooler, I'm always happy to return to my liquid mineral foundation.
