Hello. I have lost over half of my hair- and cannot figure out why! It has stopped falling out now, but I am discouraged because I just talked to a hairdresser who told me that Rogaine does not work! I was going to buy some!
And minoxidil is not the best - I haven't tried it yet. Can you buy Alpicort F in Canada or order it online??? Can anyone PLEEEESe suggest something for me because I have a limited amount of time to do something here! Can anyone get me some Alpicort F and send it to me???
Any other suggestions??? Anyone have success with anything Canadian?? Anyone found Rogaine useful?? Thanks! |

The herb Saw Palmetto is supposed to block the form of testosterone DHT which causes hair loss in both men and women. If you do a search on this you should find that lots of women with PCOS who have hair loss are using this herb to help with thinning hair. Do you know what is causing your hair loss? Have you seen your GP for tests to determine if you have an underlying medical condition which is causing this? If not you should do so.
Best of luck! |

hi, have a look at this thread
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=32237
Here is a list of things that people suggested from this and other threads:
Increase protein intake
Saw Palmetto and Evening Primrose - Androgenic alopecia. Take a break from this every 3-6 months
Biosil - increases hair shaft diameter and reduces shedding
Shampoo - non SLS and reduce frequency
Good oils - fish, flax, olive and borage seed oil
Viviscal - take for 5 out of every 6 months
Emu oil - reactivates sleeping hair follicles
Coconut oil -strengthens hair
MSM - stops shedding and increases growth/new growth. Build dosage slowly
Biotin plus B complex
Nioxin - stops hair shedding
Copper Peptides - Folligen from skinbiology
Sea veggies - shiny, healthy hair
JM Age Intervention Hair
Laser - awaiting feedback! |

Im in my early 20s and I noticed my hairline is recedng. Previously it receded because I think I went on and off BC pills. So I started taking MSM, biotin and vit B and I noticed improvement.
But recently, the condition has came back again and I think it's becoming worse. My hairline is becoming more obvious. I havent changed the supplements I think and I apply hair oils which are noted for preventing hair loss and increasing growth.
Im so upset. I dont know what else to do. I dont have thick hair to begin with and Im starting to lok bald. |

Carrot seed oil. I recommend the one from GOW, since the different types of carrot oil can get confusing. |

hello, I listen to Dr Laura on the radio and she was advertising ovationhair.com as being the solution for hair loss. I thought if I should have hair loss problem to the point where my hair is thinning at an alarming rate, I'd like to check out that web site. Maybe you could check them out and see what it's all about? |

There is a thread on EDS on lasers for hair regrowth and at the end of the thread there is a link to another forum which has members who have tirelessly researched this issue and gotten pretty good success with it. You might want to search for it.
Edit:
Here it is:

If I were you I would consult a dermatologist immediately! You might have Alopecia. I believe steroids can be used. It is important to know why you are losing your hair before you can come up with a plan of action to solve the problem. A male losing his hair usually has male pattern baldness and would use Rogaine/Propecia but a woman who loses her hair all at once needs to treat it completely differently. |

I agree that you should have it diagnosed by a doctor and maybe a specialist. I was diagnosed with female pattern baldness, mine was hair loss at the front of my head--receding hairline--which is one of the types of hair loss in women. It is genetic. I use Minoxidil at 5% strength, the usual strength is 2% and it works quite a bit. This is by prescription and made up at the pharmacy to that strength. I live in Canada and it is easily available here. (Rograine is the same but is it at only 2%)I regained the fine baby hairs on my temples and some regrowth in the middle of my hairline. I am 57 and menopausal so I could use it. I think it is good to have it diagnosed as there are many reasons for hair loss. I tried Nioxin shampoo etc but it did not help and one can spend a lot of money on things which may not be helpful at all. HTH good luck, I know how upsetting it can be. |

The first thing that I would also recommend is to see your doctor. I was having similar issues with my hair and he determined that the hair loss was caused by my over active thyroid. It is very common to experience hair loss with over active or under active thyroid issues and also it is very easy to determine with a simple blood test. There are so many things that can cause hair loss and if you have lost half of your hair, I would start with your doctor. |
