Hi there,
This forum is absolutely fab! I can't believe I've never found it before.
I wondered if anyone can give me some info about the difference between the Jan Marini C-Esta serum and the Jan Marini C-Esta Oil Control Serum.
I have combination skin which is acting very strangely at the moment. I've never used a Vit C serum before so I am a bit new to the concept. The only serum I've used before is Prescriptives Line Preventor.
Whilst I probably don't need oil control as such, I just wanted to make sure that I don't end up with a product that leaves a greasy shine on my skin.
Also, I was looking for some recommendations for a good day cream to use over the top of a vit C serum. Something that gives light moisturisation and is a really good make up base, hopefully with a decent SPF.
Any help from you wise skincare gurus out there would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you, Honey x |

I haven't used the C-Esta Oil Control (oly the original). I've got normal to combo skin and I was fine with using the original so perhaps there is no need to get the oil control unless your skin is quite oily. I would expect that the oil control version has an additional ingredient to mattify and/or absorb oil. Magda or Caspers Mum would be the ones to talk to if you wanted to know the difference in terms of actual ingredients.
As a moisturiser I would recommend Kosmea lotion (with SPF30) but I gather you can only get this in Australia. Another good option is Dermalogica Sheer Moisture (tinted and also untinted) which has an SPF of 15. |

Ooh - thank you Mabsy.
I think that I will go for the normal version then - unless anyone else has any other recommendations...
I used to use Dermalogica products before and liked them so I think I might give the Sheer Moisture a go!
Thanks, Honey x |
