I was wondering how many people out there get regular facials?? and how often?

I'm getting one on friday. My boyfriend had bought me a gift certificate for the absolute spa at the fairmont hotel. (I trained him well) Very Happy

This is only my 2nd facial. I wish I could go regularly but am a poor student...at least I treat myself to good products thanks to EDS...

I hope this poll works...I'm interested to see the results.

I assume other is - never...that's what I answered. I'm a do it yourselfer. You can get more for your money that way. I'd LOVE to get pampered in a spa or salon, but for now, gotta be practical and stretch that $$$!

.. I usually "do it myself", but I cannot resist a facial twice a year when visiting Australia... mostly cuz I found somewhere on the Gold Coast that is extremely well priced and who use great stuff. It is my pamper session.

In July, for CA/AU$60-ish I got:

1 hr facial (cleanse, steam, massage, mask - ooh heaven)
Eyebrow wax and tint
Eyelash tint

Can't beat that! That is where I discovered the Arnaud range of skincare as well.

I usually have regular facials for my acne treatment and cleaning up white/blackheads... I used to have it done every 2 weeks when younger with problematic skin... Now I try to go once a month if I can fit it into my busy schedule Sad ...

I'm lucky to find a great facialist who does good thourough facial for acne skin... It's by far the most economically affordable one that I've found... only $35 US and for my skin with all the extractions, eyebrow wax (and sometimes an ultrasound cellular intense treatment), it normally runs for 2 1/2 hours... pretty good deal, uh?! Due to time constraints, I've never been one to have regular facials. However, I've really enjoyed the few that I've had. Lately, I've been doing my own facials twice a week and have seen such a big difference in my skin.

I get mine once a month. I'm so busy that this and my mani/pedicures are my only opportunities to relax and unwind. Smile

I voted 'other' because I don't usually go to have facials done, I'm more of a DIY girl like FairlyFair and Tiger_Tim. Tiger_Tim - care the share? That would be a good excuse for me to drive down to GC Angel

I am in the "almost never" column. When I have had the luxury, I've never been disappointed.

I wondered if everyone might take this thread another step. I am ready to start with a regular facial routine (at least every other month). To date I have only been to a day spa for a facial, a friend suggested seeking out a dermatologist that has a facialist. I've never been to a dermatologist so I did not realize they do that.

Any comments on this topic? Pros and cons?

I went to a derm for a while. Before I could put almost anything on my face...After seeing him and trying all the harsh stuff he put on my skin I'm super sensitive and react to the slightest thing.

A friend went to the same guy for a mole she thought might be cancerous and all he wanted to talk about was her clogged pores.

Maybe it's just who you go to...

I have had facials every 6-8 weeks for over 9 years from the same woman. I tend to be loyal and I enjoy her as well as the treatment. She always makes fun of me for trying to find the "miracle" product Exclamation

I absolutely loved the facial that I got...It was SO relaxing, nothing at all like the at home ones I do. I'll definitely be making this a treat for myself now and then.

I was surprised though, the lady told me to stop using purifying lotions and to use more moisturizing products for dry/sensitive skin. I can get dry at times, but I always have acne...I got an eye cream and a night cream...Has anyone use Paul Scerri before?? Seems quite nice so far...If I like the 2 products I got I'll slowly switch over..if not I'll just get different yonka/decleor stuff.
