I have a big problem ..
I had a lot of acne on my back before, and it has left me red/brown marks.
The summer is coming soon, and my dermatologist told me not to expose my skin to the sun, because it could let me scars.
IMPOSSIBLE !!
I'm topless during all summer (sea, swiming-pool, football ..)
Can you help me ? Give me advices .. |

| I'm sorry, that must be really horrible not being able to go out in the sun. I wouldn't go against your doctor's advice because you could make it worse. |

I don't know what to do, because it's impossible to hide from the sun on summer !
What do you think of sunscreen, sunblock ? |

I guess your best option would be to wear a good high factor sunscreen, waterproof if you are in the pool a lot and reapply if often but I still think that even with that if you are exposing your skin directly to the sun your pigmentation marks will get worse and take longer to fade.
I'm sorry I guess I cannot fully appreciate how tough this must be for you as I avoid the sun myself and I live in a very wet and cloudy country so the sun also avoids me. |

i think i'll buy a good sunscreen, because i'm everyday expose to the sun on summer.
but does it prevent to tan ? |

I think that if you use sunscreen often enough to prevent your post acne pigmentation from getting worse you will not get much of a tan where you use it. However chances are if you expose yourself to the sun as you plan to you will even with sunscreen get a bit of a tan but it will still effect your scarring and make it darker.
You will need to choose which is most important to you to be in the sun and tan or to prevent your scarring getting darker.
Bare in mind that if you are in the sun you really should be wearing sunscreen anyway to protect yourself from developing skin cancer. |
