Crisco is hydrogenated vegitable oil... can you use it as a base cream and would it clog your pores?? |

I remember reading a little while ago that a beauty editor somewhere applied it to hands and elbows and face, and apparently recommended people to do the same, but its not something I have tried. |

Actually, I read that thread, but it doesn't really talk about adding actives and stuff in it, although, I admit I read it A LONG TIME AGO.
But thanks for pointing it out to me |

Interestingly, the ZO Skin Health Radical Night Repair product ($325) appears to use hydrogenated vegetable oil as a base. However, it appears to be whipped or something because the texture is NOTHING like Crisco...much lighter and airier. |

I was thinking when I read this that maybe we can make Crisco lighter and airier by whisking it up? People do it with shea butter, I'm sure Crisco would turn out the same... |

Seems to me you could whip it. It's what's used as fluffy icy on those disgusting grocery store cakes. Although, I would imagine it could easily melt, or harden...
I guess better to put it on your skin than eat it. |
