Hi everyone, long time no see!! (blame that on Firefox which wont let me log in.. but that is another story... )
I have a friend who is about to move to Singapore (flight attendant position). The airline told her that she needs to find an apartment in one of the following areas (they are all close to the airport they said)
Pasir Ris Estate
Tampines Estate
Simei Estate
Bedok Estate
Changi Estate
Can anyone advise which area has best access by public transport (or shortest taxi ride) to the airport?
Which has best access into the city and other facilities (sadly I have never been to Singapore, so have no idea about the place)
She is hoping to do a condo-share arrangement and they said that for (and I quote) a "master flat with toilet attached" is about $650-$700 a month (including electricity and internet)
Can someone translate this for me? LOL I am assuming it means that taking the master bedroom with attached ensuite (shower, handbasin and toilet)... am I right?
Are these apartments/condos/flats usually furnished? If so, to what extent?
The poor thing will only arrive in Singapore around June 21 and she has to start work on July 6th... so that gives her two weeks to pick up her visa, open a bank account, find accommodation, furnish it (if needed) and get a feel for the city.
Thank you to anyone with any info!! |

Just saw this post.
You are right in saying it means she gets the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. This may or may not include a tub, but will definitely have a shower.
For the price quoted, I suspect it will be an older condo or HDB (housing development board / government housing).
Most places comes furnished or partially furnished. Partially furnished would include the kitchen stuff but no bed etc. However, when you are renting a room here, it mostly comes furnished. If not, there is always good old Ikea.
Please pm me if you need any more information =0 |

housing is not cheap in singapore now.for the price you quoted, i doubt you can get a master bedroom in a condo with bathroom attached. at most, your friend will get one in public housing estate. |
