I just started Retin-A for two nights, and i realise that pimples are starting to pop out, and ive havent had anyyyy for a long time.

is the retin-a causing this??/

It seems a bit early to be causing purging, but that may be it. Also, if your Retin A contains the ingredient Isopropyl Miristate, that can cause breakouts.

Also, if you have oily skin and are using the Retin-A in the cream base that could cause breakouts in some people. Many people with this issue have better luck with the gel version of Retin-A, called Retin-A Micro. Just a thought.

It takes some time for your skin to get used to Retin A. The same thing happened to me initially...horrible cyst type acne when i never had it before. Then my skin looked the best it had in years. Don't stop...allow yourself some time to adjust to it.
