I'm looking for a beauty treatment for my skin when its acting up on me. Seems like when that monthly visitor arrives it gets really out of sorts, pimples breaking out in my t-zone, dry sensitive cheeks. I can't find anything to help with the zits, everything I use drys my skin too much!
I was hoping someone here could recomend a good moisturizing calming mask treatment. I used to use one called clinique skin calming moisture mask and it worked well for me, unfortunately clinique doesn't make this anymore!
Any ideas ladies?? Thanks! Donna |

Hi Donna,
I find that I have to take care of my skin throughout the month to avoid havoc during the period that Aunt Flo stays in town.
Every two weeks I wage a multi-faceted mask attack on my skin. I exfoliate, purify, and moisturize the heck out of it until succumbs to a clean, smooth, soft, beautiful finish. Double entendres aside, I use a particle-free exfoliant because my thin skin is sensitive to abrasion, then a purifying and toning clay mask to get gunk out and close up pores, followed by a moisturizing mask to soothe the new skin revealed. Decleor's hydra floral mask is lovely.
The whole process takes a while, but is very calming to the mind and skin. |

I pretty much pre-empt and do what k.a.t. does. I found MD Formulations Clearing Complex Masque and LUSH Cupcake mask good for that. They are not moisturising though, I just use another moisturing mask afterwards. |

Hi there!
If you don't mind getting a wee bit messy, you can try making your own mask by mixing some dry, uncooked oatmeal with a bit of milk and honey until it forms a paste. Sounds crazy, but it works wonders on my acneic skin!
I also love Dead Sea Mud -- it's not moisturizing, but it works GREAT for clearing up your skin around that time of the month!
