Obagi is good for acne. They have a line specifically for that (clenziderm). Nu Derm is mostly for hyperpigmentation issues, but will also help with acne.
You follow the Nu Derm routine for 18 weeks, and then you continue the products a few times a week for maintenance.
You can buy a kit or you can buy the products individually if you can find them at a cheaper price. You need ALL steps 1-5, and you need Retin A to go along with the program. You also need a good sunscreen. The kit you need depends on your skin type. Are you normal/oily or normal/dry? You pick the kit that fits your skin. It is much better to go to a derm, so they can tell you what to expect and help you through any rough periods, but a lot of people do it on their own.
If you are thinking about Nu Derm, I suggest making sure you do your research on it, are comfortable using the ingredients, are willing to be red/peely/flaky off and on for the entire 18 weeks, and are willing to continue the products for maintenance. Hope that helps. |

Many thanks for your reply
Ive been for a mini consultation at a local salon but I can buy this myself away from there for half the price.
Thick question what is Retin A? I searchs EDS shop and got loads of different results.
clenziderm - does this have the same effect? Peel of skin I noticed its MUCH different in price (cheaper).
I also noticed 2 different set:

&
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/obagi-nu-derm-skin-transf-p_5444.htm
Im very sure the 2nd on is the one in my salon is the chepaer one (first link) topups/maintanance?
Many thanks for your reply

Hi, Mummy!
Ok, Retin A is tretinoin. You won't find that on line at EDS. You can purchase it on line at several pharmacies. You would have to do a search on EDS to see what places. You usually get it from a derms office, or even your regular doctor can prescribe it. It is an essential part of the Nu Derm.
Clenziderm is strictly for acne, where the Nu Derm will help with fine lines/wrinkles and hyperpigmentation the most.
The difference between the 2 sets is the Cleanser (one is for oily skin and one is for dry/sensitive skin, and the Exfoderm or Exfoderm Forte. The Exfoderm is included in the dry/sensitive skin set. It is a phytic acid product and is less strong than the Exfoderm Forte, which is included in the oily skin set. The Forte is glycolic and lactic acid and stronger. (The transformation kit includes the patient booklet, and 1 additional sunscreen that the oily kit does not have.).
Hope that helps you! |

Thank you again
Clenziderm - Does this have better effects then? Does it peel like obagi?
If I am aiming to deal with acne & scarring which is better advised? & do I need Retin A with the Clenziderm. |

Hey, Mummy. I don't know anything about the Clenziderm, only that it was designed specifically for acne. You may want to check out this site. It tells you a lot about the products. You can also just go to Obagi.com, as well to get more info.

Thanks for all your replies.
I have decided to go back to my local salon and do treatment through them. Doing it on my own is cheaper but can't really put a price on your face can you and I don't want to make a mistake.
Thanks your answers have really helped after I have done this with proper advice and I know what Im doing if I ever came to do it again at least I'd know Im doing things right. |
