If you don't mind I would also like to ask how many settings you have to choose from? Is it only low and high or any in between? |

It has 3 settings, low, medium and high. I have not tried it yet under my eyes. (only sides). I also use it on forehead and nasolabial area. |

Thanks LGD, I only noticed mention of high and low settings so that helps! I can't wait for more on the long term results, sooooo tempting! |

There's a thread on QVC regarding the results folks are having with the PaloVia.
Lots of folks having redness/dryness, but the results are encouraging and the general consensus seems to be positive. There is some mention that it is helping broken caps.

I am also wondering this. My under eye area is my problem spot -- in terms of wrinkles -- several horizontal lines under each eye.
If anyone is using the laser on the under eye area, please report how things are progressing.
Thanks!! |

See slide 5 in this:

It shows the eye treatment area and it extends under the iris of the eye.
I don't have one, but have been considering it! |

YEA! I got mine today and treated mine and DH's undereye area.( Kims, I have those horizontal lines right under lash lines, so I'm treating those, crow's feet, and the general hollowing in lower eye socket.)
I would rate the discomfort about a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being most painful.
We are both red and have the welts, so praying they are gone in the morning...hoping not the 24 hour curse Cuddles!!
It was hard to tell whether I was retreating the same area more than once since I held it horizontally and vertically.
I applied CP night eyes and will top off with emu oil before bed since both have anti-inflammatory effects...hoping that will help!
Will keep you posted!! |

Yikes! I'm still red and swollen this morning. No way I'm doing it again tonight because I have somewhere to go in the morning. I would not want to look like this!! I may have to sacrifice some results, either by turning the setting to low or not using on nights I have somewhere to go the next morning. Bummer! |

loribar, I am using mine on low. By the morning only slightly reddenned. I will be going on 2 weeks using it on Monday. I am slowly going to go to medium, then eventually high. I found the high was WAY too much for my skin to start out with |

Loribar,
Sorry you are still red. I turned my setting down, but still get the red welts. I wouldn't count on the lower setting solving the problem. Dermablend has been my solution.

Thanks for the feedback lipglossdoll and cuddles. I still have swelling and redness/almost bruised looking under eyes. Thank goodness I treated my hubby at the same time so that I didn't use all 25 zaps on myself...I shudder to think what I would look like.
I'm just wondering what would yield the most results...using it every night on the lowest setting or using it less often on the high setting??
I also think I might be having some of these problems due to a skin barrier compromise from a brief wonderbar trial. I had only been using it about a week, but my skin was really starting to dry out. I stopped using the wonderbar the day before but probably not wise to zap!!
I'm going to wait till this completely clears up then start again on the lowest setting. I'll be watching closely for everyone else's updates!! |

Okay, I'm starting to sound like Debby Downer but I just want to be honest about my "down time" in using this. After a full 48 hours of my one and only use, I still have discoloration and a bit of mild swelling. Yesterday the dry/crustiness and pattern showed up and that is better today. All of this has been more significant than what I expected. So now I have to weigh looking really bad for a month for an unknown outcome(what if I'm in the 8% when they said that 92% had a decrease in wrinkles!!!) And, you guys know how depressing it is to look worse/older even for the short term!!
Just to throw in another variable in my particular case, I recently had a 4 series pelleve' treatment. It has certainly crossed my mind that this might have increased my sensitivity. The other bad thing was that had absolutely no "uglies" with it(different technology-radio frequency device)...so influenced my expectations about using this and not having uglies! However,I don't think the pelleve' did much...no pain, no gain theory!!
I believe in this device and I'm certainly not going to quit using it. Tomorrow night I'll try again on the lowest setting and fewer stamps to see the reaction.
I hope I'm the worst case scenario, but I do want to put it all out there for those still deciding. |

Hello,
Tonight would have been my 4th use, but disappointingly, most of my stamps were interrupted. My first two nights, I only had one interrupted each night. My third night I had about 4 interrupted. Tonight, I had mostly interrupted and could not get a full eye treatment in. My technique has been the same.
Otherwise, I have used the device on high and have been red and swollen. The next morning, I am still red and have used cover up. I know that inflammation is a part of the collagen process but I cannot go a month with eye uglies, deeper wrinkles, puffy eyes, redness... so I began to develop an anti-inflammatory routine and it has begun to work.
I have been applying fresh aloe vera gel just before I go to sleep with traumeel over that. In the morning, I have applied fresh AV gel and then used an ultrasound device with traumeel over that. Today, my eyes looked the best.
I do feel like this device does something to the skin and hope that the machine holds up. I think that I can find a routine that will help me cope with the morning after side effects. Of course, it is too soon to tell a difference so I will not have expectations for now, except for the machine to work! I remembered to register for my one-year warranty. I am testing for the 60 days.

Oops, somehow I double posted.
I'll turn this into an addendum. This device takes very little time and packs a punch making it seem like it will be effective and easy.
I was so glad when I was able to complete the treatment with only 1 interrupted signal. Now I am concerned that I will get these interrupted signals which is very disappointing. Any more advice on this?

hydrogeogirl, have you looked at the qvc website?? Go to beauty banter and type in palo via. There are a couple more of your stories there that didn't end well. Well...I should say palo via did end up replacing the lasers so not all is lost! |

Hello,
I tried to use the device this morning, got 8 good hits and 17 interupts. Called palovia, they sent a shipping lable for me to return the device tomorrow for a replacement. that is great customer service. Can't wait to get back on the program and monitor results. This is a new progressive product and there are bound to be a few glitches, I am so glad that palovia is responsive to it's newest consumers.

Well...I ended up getting a PaloVia. It arrived today! Since I was home, I had to charge it up and try it.
First use...not too bad. It stings a little, but nothing like a chemical peel. It is tolerable. It hurt most in the under-eye area.
I'm going for off-label use and am also using it on some wrinkles around my lips and mouth.
Right after the first use, the zapped spots were red. I could tell the little squares where I'd placed it. I used it on high.
It's now a couple hours later and the redness is gone. It took about an hour or so to disipate. I can still see a little swelling (ha - it makes the wrinkles look smooth!).
I did end up with 3-4 interrupted zaps. I think it was mostly due to me wiggling or otherwise moving. You need to press pretty firmly.
One question for those of you with the device - mine has a little white spec on the glass of the laser treatment part. Do you have that as well? It's not something I can wipe off and I noticed when I took it out of the box. |

Mine does not have a speck on the glass. In my left hand bottom corner there is a glass tube the touches the glass from the inside.
Wish I could get started using this. Have done it once and that's it. Life challenges are not cooperating. |

Shastagirl,
I also have the speck in the corner. I have now been using the laser for 3 weeks. Sadly, I am underwhelmed by the results. I have seen no reduction in fine lines--just redness, swelling and dry skin. The laser was too much money to give up on yet, but at this point, I am not expecting much in the way of positive results. |

Thanks Cuddles. I thought it was odd that there was a light tube and a speck, so now I feel better that it's not a manufacturing anomaly.
Sorry to hear you're not getting results. I am so hoping this will help. I was going to get fillers and went for this instead. I figure with the 60 day money back guarantee, I can always return it.
I did notice some red spots last night after washing. Perfect little red squares, so I'm sure it's from the laser. |

When I had my Pearl Laser treatment the doctor said that results would START to appear about six months later. These lasers work by "damaging" the lower layers of the skin which then responds by producing new collagen.
Now, if a salon laser (which left me bruised and battered for about a week) takes this long to produce results, I would imagine a home use version is going to take much longer. In addition, it is recommended to have multiple salon treatments in order to get optimum benefits.
I can't see the PaloVia as being some magic wand that's going to wipe away wrinkles in a few weeks. I would suggest that it's a long-term commitment - so I wouldn't give up yet.
I've been reading up about lasers lately - and in everything I've come across, the opinion by doctors seems to be that it's the extremely invasive lasers (the ones that remove the top layer of skin) that are the most effective. These types of lasers can really mimic the effects of a face-lift (or better). Unfortunately, they also involve massive pain and discomfort and considerable down-time.
If you are lucky enough to have your own home laser, I would just keep on keeping on and hope for some results in the future. |
