Have just received a Return Authorisation Form from Nordstroms (that was quick). So, no problems there - except I'll be out of pocket for all the postage (which was quite substantial). Anyway, at least there's no drama about returning it. |

Hi Keliu
I had the same problems with interruptions and have been using my replacement for 3 days now with NO interruptions and also this new laser sounds louder and lights up immediately with contact .
I am red red red around the eyes and top lip and between the eyes and it feels like sandpaper but Im nearly into maintenance now and the little wrinkles that were running down my cheek area where the cheek meets the eye have diminished but I dont know if its just a temp swelling or whether they have truly been zapped for good. But I do know the last laser did not work properly at all and this one is ok so far.
Its sooooo disappointing when things go wrong especially when you hear such good results.
I had fillers today in my NLs and my doc told me to be careful with the laser because my top lip looked a bit discoloured and he warned me that it could cause hyperpigmentation and then Id need treatment for that.So Im treading gently round the lip area from now on. |

I've been reading and watching this thread in its entirety and as much as I've considered this device, I think I'll hold off until they work out the "kinks." Many times, a first edition of any new technology comes with problems unanticipated by the manufacturer.
I'm so happy for all of you who are having great results with this device. And, I'll keep reading the thread daily. |

Can you keep us updated with how your new device is performing because mine was fine for the first three or four days, then it just got progressively worse.
I'm really surprised at how long the red splotchy patches around my mouth are taking to go away. And these are from a device that wasn't working to its full capacity. Imagine what my mouth would look like if I had managed to do all 25 zaps. So I'm definitely of the opinion that this device packs a punch. I'm tempted to order another one, but I'm too worried I'll get another dud. I think I'll wait and see what eventuates - hopefully, they'll iron out the current problems.
In the meantime, I'm going to book in for an IPL next week - I've totally gone into withdrawals! |

Will keep you updated on how long new device works for without interruptions.
Having a day off from it today because my face is just too red and I have a job that means standing and presenting in front of people and I must look like my husband has been slapping my face or something.
I do think this packs a punch and I agree I just cant use it every day when I get the full 25 zaps because it is sooo powerful. Well for my skin anyway.
I think I may have to do one day on then one day off for the next week or so then its maintenance. |

Well I received my PaloVia from QVC 2 days ago and I have to say I am really impressed! I haven't tried the High voltage yet - I'm still on the Medium. I mainly bought it to use around my mouth - I don't have crows feet as I use Retin A regularly. I do smoke though (I know I know) so I have wrinkles around my mouth. At age 57 this isn't pretty and I yes, I should give up smoking but I must have been a tobacco farmer in another life or something.
Every time I would read about injections and fillers I would dream about it but I know DH would never let me - and they are not permanent. I happened to drop back in here and read about the PaloVia and thought it sounded promising. As the Universe has a way of working things out, my April MORE magazine (Best article I have read on skin treatments and fillers etc. see my other post under Dermal Filler(s) at Temple) arrived and they explained about Laser and how it worked and I was in for one.
Now I wished I had taken Before and After photos! First treatment I noticed a significant improvement, even though I didn't use all 25 zaps. I didn't get much redness - it went away within 10 minutes.
I thought I looked better right after and thought maybe it was a fluke, but nope, it still looked great the next morning. I really looked like I had had fillers or something!
Now if I can just figure out how to make it work in between my eyebrows - it's funny how it will work on some places but not others.
Will this work on lips? |

HappyAThome, how fabulous for you! I am very pleased to hear that this is working for some people. I'd be very careful of the lips though. |

I just heard back from QVC. They advertise it as coming with Two 1 fl oz Pre-Treatment Gels but it only comes with 1 bottle. They offered to let me send it back and refund my money (gasp) or they would refund me $30.00.
So instead of it costing me $454. it is now only going to cost me $424 |

On acne.org there's a quote here: http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php?s=&showtopic=290994&view=findpost&p=3054302
"..have read from other reviews, that they have reworked the laser design where now it beeps about 7 times, it used to beep 10, but one reviewer said this one is stronger now (she had the old one replaced due to it being defective) There were quite a few complaints of defective lasers but hopefully they have worked the kinks out now."
Still hankering after this! The reliability concerns are all that are holding me back. |

I would gladly purchase another one if I knew it was going to be reliable. But how would you know if you were buying the newer "improved" model? I really think the manufacturer should be addressing this problem and informing people as to what is going on. |

Well I just wanted to post an update. I'm rally liking this laser as well. I've only got another week to go on my first 30 days. Ive been doing around my eyes, my "11" and upper lip. My eyes are looking looking smoother and what wrinkles I did have are gone. "11" looks softened but not entirely gone. Lips look better but it's hard to tell cause skin is pretty red there. I can't wait to see what they will look like after the healing is complete. I'm starting on my forehead wrinkles next. I use the lightstim immediately after and it helps tremendously with the redness and stinging sensation. I then apply a super heavy moisturizer and aquaphor on top of that, with that routine concealer just about covers everything up but my under eyes are still a bit puffy. As far as interruptions and problems with the laser, I haven't really had any. I do get interruptions if it is in a funny place and my hand moves and the laser loses contact with the skin. My laser did come with 2 bottles of gel. I don't regret purchasing. I really do think it works. |

Here's their reply:
"In response to your questions about the performance of the Palovia Laser, I would like to assure you that product quality and customer satisfaction are our highest priorities. We take great pride in being an industry leader, providing professional level laser technology for decades. With the introduction of our new PaloVia Laser, we are continuing to lead the way with the first laser device FDA-cleared to treat periorbital fine lines and wrinkles by consumers in the comfort of their own homes. The latest batch of PaloVia Lasers do have a 7 bell signal, rather than the previous 10 bells, however, that is in no way related to the laser performance. The laser application time and strength have not been modified in any way.
We are happy to report that the PaloVia Laser was just launched in December 2010 and the response to date has been overwhelmingly positive. So much so that the product has sold out on QVC, and is currently available in limited quantity only on Palovia.com and at Nordstrom. As is often the case with breakthrough technologies, there have been a small percentage of consumers, who have experienced product issues. In those cases, the purchasers have received replacement lasers under our one-year limited warranty at no cost to them. Remember, that in addition to our one-year limited warranty, the PaloVia Skin Renewing Laser also comes with a 60-day Money-Back guarantee. So your purchase is really risk-free." |

Well..(deep breath)..I've went for a Palovia from lovelyskin.com (they have a 15% off code at the moment, NYC).
There's a 30 day return policy so I hope that'll cover me in case there's any problems. Fingers crossed I don't get a dud!
I've just realised that if I spent an extra dollar I'd have got free international shipping (kicks self) |

Actually, blame that on it being 5am..I don't qualify for free shipping when I've used the 15% off voucher!
My order total came to $464.15, which isn't too bad for international shipping!
Excited, but apprehensive.. |

That's a very good deal! Well done!! They do have a 15% re-stocking fee if you return though. Please let us know how your device functions when you get it. |

Guess I've paid for the restocking fee, then (me, optimistic?)
Looking around for Palovia reviews I found this, a similar laser gadget being developed by Philips/Solta Medical: http://www.drzachary.net/2011/04/03/home-use-skin-rejuvenating-devices-will-duke-it-out-in-2012/
"..the offspring of a collaborative effort between Solta Medical in Hayward, CA, and Philips, the Dutch electronics giant, based in Einthoven, Holland. Code named ‘Kovar’, this has been in the works for several years, and is the culmination of smart engineering and careful attention to detail with regard to efficacy and safety. The device is a fractionated 1435 nm laser with an output of 1.2 Watts. This product is not yet FDA cleared and is as yet an investigational device, and therefore is not currently available for use in the USA, or in Europe." |

Well I've gone up to the High level on mine for some areas and I'm going to send it back to PaloVia for replacement. On High I'm getting too many interruptions. Sigh. I will keep it another week or so and then return it. It's very frustrating. I use it very early in the morning - like 5 am - and then around 3 in the afternoon on the other areas I want to work on. I decided to start on my neck and thought I'd see if it would plump out my cheekbones The early morning is for maintenance areas.
I did get my refund from QVC though for $30. |

I only ever used mine on HIGH. I wonder if those who aren't getting all the interruptions are using it on LOW or MEDIUM.
Did everyone notice that in the information on the Phillips device (which looks very similar to the PaloVia) it was recommended to use it only twice a week?
Quote: |
Patients were instructed to use the Philips laser twice a week for 8-12 weeks |

To keep you updated .I recieved my new replacement laser couple weeks ago now and there have been no interruptions, and it does sound kinda different, more loud with less bells. The other was definately faulty and to answer you question I too thought the interruptions may well be caused by having it on high but I tried my other one on low for days and medium and still no difference.
Im happy with this new device and its a keeper. My eye wrinkolas are much less visible although the top lip has slight improvement ,not as much as the eye area.
Worth the money but the hassle I had to go through to get a replacement here in the UK was pretty bad.
Best wishes |
