Hi,
I'm 20 and need some advice for my skincare regime. I've dark eye circles and bags, whiteheads, blackheads and occasional acnes (due to being deprived of sleep).
Are the below what I should look out for in my regime?
1. Cleanser - gentle, non-foaming
2. Exfoliate - mild and non-abrasive, BHA, AHA
3. Sunscreen - UVA, UVB protection, non-oily
4. Moisturizer - L'ascorbic acid, anti-oxidants (against free radicals), non-oily
5. Eye cream - i'm not sure (are ampoules effective?)
6. Thermal spray - La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water (what i'm currently using)
For the sunscreen and moisturizer, do I have to look out for different stuff for using on the face and body respectively?
Please help me to refine it. Thanks! And if possible, could you recommend suitable products as well? Preferably those which are free of paraben, alcohol, fragrance and preservatives as I'm still a noob in skincare products. Thanks a million! |

Hi Winkx,
Please forgive my spelling.
I think that since you have some breakout problmes, you should incorporaate items slowly into your routine. I.e., start with a good cleanser, sunsreeen, and a mild night treatment which will address acne. Then you can ramp up your routine, one item at a time as you get your skin under control.
You may want a cleanser that has BHAs or salisytic acid to keep the breakouts under control. I am sure there are good products at this site for breakouts, such as Murad, or at your drugstore, such as Neutrogena. I sometimes use a Neutrogena cleanser (I'm out right now so I can't check the name) which has salisytic in it. You will have to walk down the aisle and check labels. Most of the products will have some type of perservatives in them to keep them from spoiling.
You will need a sunscreen during the day. Look for one that is oily free and will not clog pores. Non-com something (sorry that spelling thing again). Exfoliation is fine, but you may want to wait a few weeks before you introduce that, and just get your skin under control with the brakeouts.
I will leave the eye cream to someone else. I am currenlty using Isomers One 3000 serum which seemed to reduce darkness for me, but did not eliminate puffiness.
I am glad that you want to design a comprehensive routine for yourself, but again, take is slowly so that you don't irrate your skin and become discouraged. Good luck. |
